I’ve made two attempts over the last week to get to Brighton-Le-Sands in the morning for a swim and both attempts have ended in failure.
The first one was due to me horribly misjudging how long it would take as it had been a while since I’d gone there.
The second time (early in the morning today) was due to my attempt at taking a route that would cut a slight bit of time off and getting a little bit lost instead and subsequently increasing the time it took me.
Both times I’ve caught the train from Tempe station as I’ve had to go to work due to being too low on time to continue.
It is a bit frustrating, mainly because of it being my own fault, but also because I am really missing being in the water without many people around.
When I go to the beach, it usually involves a bush walk early in the morning. The particular beach I go to doesn’t have many visitors and the surf is nice and strong.
Unfortunately that’s a large distance to cycle for a brief swim.
The reason why I’ve attempted to go to Brighton-Le-Sands is that it’s close to home and I’m (usually) familiar with the route).
Also, even though I enjoy a strong surf, I do like that, due to it being in a bay, it has a calm surf which would be nice in the morning.
I have just found out that Bondi Beach would take roughly the same time, so I might give that a go from time to time, depending on how I feel.
I really do miss being in water a lot. I wasn’t able to go swimming much last summer, so hopefully I can do a fair bit during the one that is fast approaching.
Especially before work, so I can maximize how often I can go.
