Here is a picture of a leaf-curling spider using a beer label instead of a leaf.
A friend and I saw it whilst walking from Coogee to Bondi a couple of weeks ago.
I know it’s a bit of a stretch, but it feels as though the spider is living in “Harmony” with the wrapper, despite the wrapper being a non-living object.
In another sense, the spider is using it to remain in harmony with nature as much as it can.
Perhaps there were no good leaves around when it came across this.
This is my submission for this week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post.
I hope you enjoy.

He was picking up litter and recycling. A good example for us all. π

wow.. it’s a kind of strange expression of harmony, but on the other side.. spider became the master of usability and takes advantage of environment around him.. instead of perspective of an obstacle.. thanks a lot for this funky expression, Cheers from Ireland, Swav @ PaintingsbySwav

It certainly is, isn’t it?

That’s so interesting. I’ve never seen a non-living thing as part of a spider web. It’s as if the spider were making a little house.

I don’t think I have either.
It probably wanted something more waterproof than a leaf.

I get a number of then in my backyard and I see them elsewhere, but I’ve never seen them use anything other than leaves before.
