Sitting in a room staring at my laptop whilst I wait for the words to appear on my screen despite being waves of sound that small bones in my ears perceive and translate into something audible that I can understand so that I can make the words appear on the screen using my fingers to hit the keys that are attached to buttons that, when pressed, provide commands to the laptop to create letters that, when put together in a certain order, form words that I can understand which hopefully lead to sentences that help translate the audible words into a visual language that I can then read as these will be the notes that I take from the lectures that I listen to in order to help my brain retain the information that I need to retain in order to be able to pass the exams that I have coming up, although right now study is focused on passing only and exactly one exam, for once that one is out of the way, the next one will have my attention as I want to make sure that I pass the closest one as I need to get more marks to pass it and now I am rambling and I cannot remember what my intention for this post was, although I am sure that I will find it along the way.
I am in this room with the team that I worked with on the group assignment and we are doing somewhat well. We are doing a little bit of procrastination, but progress is good and so long as we stay as focused as we can, then I’m sure that we will do alright.
We just need to stay focused, regardless of how difficult that that seems to be for us.
I can honestly say that this is a team that I like being a part of. There’s only three of us, but we have some sort of group dynamic that seems to work, although I’m not too sure as to what the dynamic is, but I imagine that one day I will work it out.
Maybe we’re a democracy. Maybe.
I’d prefer a dictatorship, where each of is is as power-hungry as the other but too lazy to seize it and too lazy to protect what precious control we have, despite none of us having any control whatsoever.
So it’s a group of deluded students slowly working their way through course material that they should have started going through a while ago. Such is the way of things in the world.
Wait.
Such is the way of things in this room that we have booked for six hours.
We’re locked in here until we learn something new. Then we are locked in here until we make sure we’ve learned a fair bit, as the exam is a week away and we have a lot of work to conquer before we can truly say that we are prepared for success.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:00:07
Even though I shouldn’t be writing right now, I do think that it keeps the mind sharp and more able to absorb knowledge.
Also, I just realised that the exam is Wednesday next week, so a little over a week to be successful.
