Here’s what appears to be an old place.
A fair bit of the exterior frame is still intact, but the whole structure is quite clearly showing the wear of the effects of time.
Plants are slowly growing around it. Maybe they’ll end up growing enough to consume the structure. It’s doubtful, but maybe it will happen.
I think that the rigidity of the structure is interesting as, in a way it kind of makes the building feel stubborn in its resistance to the elements.
I also think that it shows some nice angularity in the structure.
That, combined with the colours makes for a nice contrast with the vegetation.
It kind of highlights the dichotomy of the human-built and natural environment, as well as how nature is likely to take over an area given enough time.
Still, there’s quite a fair bit of the urban in this particular area.
I’m sharing this photo as part of The Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The theme this week is “Weathered or Worn“.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
This week is hosted by Leya and next week’s will be hosted by Amy.
I hope you enjoy.

Perfect for the theme.

The structure of the weathered building and the growing plants around it are all so well captured. Perfect for the theme!
