Five-Hundred Word Challenge 588: Morning of the Work Day

And so the morning of the work day begins and already I’m trying to get away as soon as I can, but of course I am chained here until I can get out.

Too long I’ve been underground and without a window, and too long I’ve had nothing but lights to illuminate my desk at work.

I miss the natural light but alas, it is not to be at the moment, for the powers that be don’t understand and don’t want to see the science behind having natural light leading to a better workforce.

I kind of tried. Probably could’ve tried harder, but that was not to be and now I am here, writing my grievances and throwing them into the abyss, as it were.

The rain falls and waters the plants and I am here, dry and preparing to take an onslaught of calls from people who don’t understand how foolish they sound and how foolish they are.

Well, maybe they do, and perhaps there are plenty of them out there who are significantly smarter than I believe, but that is another story for a day that will not come, unless I allow it to arrive and finally sink my teeth into that beast of a topic that I wish was a beast of a topic, but is not really. It’s more well-trodden ground and I would be there trying to flatten it even more so that it has no chance to be revisited. Of course, in a few years after the fact I would revisit it, forgetting that I ever tackled the thing in the first place.

What else can I say about the topic at hand other than it is indeed a topic and not at my foot? What else can I say outside of something that clearly expresses a desire to keep on doing the things that I want to do, and catch up on all that that I have missed out on?

Well, there is always time and to comes down to the best application of it. If applied well, then I’m sure I’d have all of the time in the entirety of the planet on which we live in order to do all of the things that I want to do, or have missed out on doing. There is always time, and more of it, but the thing that needs to be remembered is that the reality is you only have time and you don’t get it back, so the more you capitalise on what you have, the better use of it you are making.

Of course there needs to be time for downtime, but too much of it is a waste, just like anything else really, so you need to remember that it is best to do a lot and not much in careful balance so that yo-u are always doing the most with what you have.

Also don’t eat more than you need to, unless required, but only if it is required.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:13:33

Sometimes there is a logical flow to these, and sometimes there is no logical flow.

This falls under the latter.

I think I got some stuff across but the whole thing is too entrenched in reality.

Written at work.

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
