Under a Sail

Here’s a part of The Sydney Opera House.

I like seeing the underside of this sail as it shows the utilitarian aspect of the building. In part the the structure appears as though it was influenced by brutalism, which makes me wonder if part of the building took influence from that architectural style.

I also like how this part of the building appears in due to the angle at which it was capture in this photo. It feels both odd and familiar, I think.

Edit: last night I realised I had the wrong photo up (I’d already shared it) and so have now swapped it out for the correct photo.
