36 & zakè: Stasis Sounds for Long-Distance Space Travel (Stage 1)

One listen for this one.

I had a bit of trouble writing this as I started thinking about whether I should try to describe the sound or draw out imagery. Focusing om imagery would’ve worked much better and some of that is here, but perhaps not enough.

36 & zakè’s “Stasis Sounds for Long-Distance Space Travel (Stage 1)” is from Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel.

I hope you enjoy.

Slowly and quickly a long calm laps at its shoreline, and all fades out as it fades in. A grand silence fills out and around, and the only thing that disturbs it is the calm.

The sounds seem to recede and advance in slow motions; it is at ease as it reinforces itself. Eventually something else comes in, taking away the sense of certainty in a way. At first there was perhaps a sense of excitement, but now something along the lines of loss and sadness appear. If not specific, then the sense of melancholy is there and it grows, and what was no longer is. The sounds have taken on a new context as they move through the silence, slowly unchanging whilst they continue to move calmly.

They move as though long trails, and they grow heavy and seemingly burdened, but they continue onward, still with that slight excitement, and they fade away as the song ends.
