During one of the recent nightclub photo jobs I did I was quite fortunate in getting this photo. I was having issues with the flash staying on so I went to the quietest room of the venue which was the balcony. I needed to hear if the mechanisms were working as I fiddled with the batteries and I couldn’t hear it whilst I was among the crowds.

The flash decided to start working again of its own accord and so I took a few photos from the balcony. After a minute, maybe a few minutes I heard something that made me think there was going to be some stage smoke shot out from the stage. I wanted a photo of stage smoke with the mirror ball as I thought it’d make a good photo and this was brought on by being in the crowd a bit earlier when the first bit of stage smoke was shot out from the stage.

I got into position and started snapping away when it seemed like the smoke was going to come out and it did, along with a bunch of confetti which I wasn’t expecting. The below result was really lucky. I was pretty happy to get the photo and whilst I hope I’ll do better at some point, I’m still happy with this one.
