One listen.
Thought about doing this song yesterday, threw myself into it just now.
Kind of touching on more of a description of what is happening more than anything else, and a little bit of the critical cap came on, but it’s not overt. I think I did alright here.
Memorex Memories’ “Mothers Lullaby” is from Pictures of Purple Skies.
I hope you enjoy.

Echoing points at a distance, and a shuffle, and things seem to be forming. Things are taking shape, or they’re just coming into view. Same thing given certain context, really.
It all comes closer, and the sounds seem to come and embrace, and build, and there’s anticipation. There’s anticipation as this all builds, and more sound comes into place. Sound that is quieter, and then it all drops, or implies that it drops and falls away.
The beat comes in, strident, shuffling, spaced. It’s more energy and it’s straddling a line between relaxed and energetic. Soon after something a bit more melancholic and seemingly cold, and comforting comes in. It’s soothing in a sense; it’s a moment where, despite a sense of sadness, there’s comfort and relaxation, in a way.
Perhaps it is an idea of memory, and that lingers on when the beat drops out. It stretches out, and the bass is more obvious, and lingering, pressing on brief highlights though remaining quite present.
Soon it all pulls away once more, or at least most of it, and what is left are the light keys fading away among some sort of worn noise as the song ends.
