Ryota Kozuka: Yuzuru and Tsukuyomi

Two listens.

Just threw myself in, but I feel as though I was overreaching.

Ryota Kozuka’s (小塚良太) “Yuzuru and Tsukuyomi” (“ユヅルとツクヨミ”) is from Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK, the soundtrack for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.

I hope you enjoy.

Seemingly warm, but also cold sounds spread along whilst keys play out delicate notes to step alongside. There’s some calm here, but it’s all eerie. It’s all off, but the peace is there.

Perhaps it’s a peace in the face of an impending situation, or perhaps it’s something more regal and overwhelming being presented to something that is, comparatively insignificant. Perhaps it’s distress giving way to despair.

The sounds seemingly descend into a state of affirmation whilst something a bit more distorted creeps up in the background. They reach a conclusive moment, and the song ends.
