My Weekend (sort of)

Tired. On a Monday. Waiting for a bus that is late. Why is this so familiar?

Here it is!

Interesting weekend.

I saw Captain Kickass and the Awesomes on Friday. Not a bad band at all. Really good live sound. Very tight. Etc etc.

Saturday was spent doing nothing mostly. Was too tired for most things. Skipped a birthday party. Played guitar.

A friend of Ewe and I had moved back to Sydney, so we hung with him for a few hours near home.

Sunday was probably the highlight.
I obtained a barbecue recently. It needed a really solid clean as it was really dirty. The plates had a fair bit of rust on them and needed the most attention.

Ili came around and we started working away, getting what we could get clean.

We were able to get some of the rust off pretty easily but a lot of it required elbow grease we didn’t have.

I had read that it was possible to use bicarb soda to remove the rust by applying it, then turning the barbecue on and letting the heat cook the bicarb.

Well, it sort of worked once we added water.

A lot of the rust was removed. However, the plates were too damaged from the rust that we had to declare it a lost cause.

It was a wonderful failure.

Later on we had chicken schnitzel and watched Zardoz. Ili enjoyed it. I realised I’ve seen it far too many times.

There was a lot of messaging between my ex and I again. Still enjoying it. Still unable to say what I want. I’d need to show her.

To me it seems she’s being really close in a way. The conversations are the kind we used to have now, back when the relationship was really strong.

There’s no way that she can’t know how I feel about her and yet she’s talking to me a fair bit. I’m not complaining. I do think she still feels something though, but I’m probably wrong.

Well, I’ve been at work for a bit now, so I better get started.
