Whilst in Katoomba on the weekend, Ewe took me to a record store that he had said was really awesome.
The range was decent and there were a few albums there that I was interested in as well as a few books (some being art) that caught my eye.
They also had a few amplifiers and turntables but I did not check them out.
Unfortunately Ewe and I had to hold back on purchasing due to being tight on money.
As we were leaving Ewe said bye to one of the people who worked there and we received a disdainful sounding bye in response.
This isn’t the first time I’ve walked into a shop and not purchased something and had a response like that when I’ve left.
It’s the response someone will give when you don’t buy something.
It’s a fairly disrespectful act that can cost a store a potential regular.
I do understand that for a shop, someone not buying something isn’t exactly desired, but there is no reason to verbally express that negatively.
Before this happened I was annoyed I didn’t have money to purchase anything.
Afterwards I didn’t feel as though I’d go back in again.
Part of the reason as to why I go to my regular record store is that they treat customers well; even those that don’t buy something.
Oh well.
That wasn’t much of a rant. I’ll try harder next time.
