On Monday, a friend and I went to Sydney Park to see the Perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system as it rose. Whilst waiting, seeing the sunset, I decided to take a few photos as it was the sunset that I had hoped to capture a few weeks prior.

Most people missed the beauty of the sunset, waiting for the “super” moon to rise.
There was at least twenty minutes of this light display that most of the people missed out on seeing as apparently it would mean they would completely miss the moon.

I ended up taking quite a few photos of the sunset. As said before, it was beautiful. It had a lot more “Magic” to it than the moon, which only appeared from behind some clouds for a few minutes before being hidden by the clouds once more.

It didn’t seem to appear any bigger than it had been over the past few months, but maybe that has to do with the location of viewing.

I find it surprising that so many people willingly did not turn around and see something significantly better than the “super” moon, because the sunset really was the superior event to experience in this case.
