On the first day of Easter I was at Carriageworks to see some blacksmiths do some metalwork.
In these photos, I like the form of the person as they are about to bring the hammer down. It is not for a hard strike, but there’s still a somewhat-powerful motion occurring.
There also seems to be a deal of concentration and focus which is probably developing as the craft is being learned.

A common misconception regarding dark ages of history is that they were horrible times, but dark ages are known as such due to how little we know about them due to a significant lack of primary historical sources.
