The dune at the entrance to Smiths Lake is massive.
I’m sure that there’s bigger ones out there, but this one seems to cover such a large area.
I like how much detail there appears to be in the sand, as well as the visible salt water hanging in the air in the distance.
I think it was salt water. Pretty sure it was not mist from the lake side of the dune.
I think that this photo gives a fairly good idea of how vast the dune is at parts. It gives a better idea than the last photo involving the dune that I uploaded.
Other than that, I think that there’s a good light balance and I like how the hills in the background contrast with the sand.
This is my entry into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.
I recommend checking it out and considering submitting if you are a photographer.
It’s a fun event driven both by Leanne Cole and the small community that participates.
I also recommend that you check out Leanne Cole‘s work outside of Monochrome Madness.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
