Another shot from the same location as these ones.

This isn’t quite how the sunset’s light appeared when I took the shot, but I think this image captures the atmosphere of the area a bit better than had I left it as was.

I like the strong contrast between light and shade on the rock. I think it helps to bring forward some of the smaller details like the cracks, as well as the overall surface texture of the rock.

I think that in a way the rock almost looks like charcoal.
