Band Gear

A shot that I wasn’t planning on using, but it fits with Leanne Cole‘s The Photographer’s Mentor photo challenge for this week and I like it, so yeah.

Sometimes when I’m shooting a gig, between sets I’ll take a shot of something on the stage either to check if the settings for the camera will work for the next band (often they don’t and I end up changing the settings anyway), or if I think something on the stage will make for an interesting image.

I’m not entirely sure as to what it is that makes this image appealing to me. Perhaps it is the positioning, the textures, the lighting. Perhaps it’s a combination of those, or perhaps it is something else entirely.

I do think I could have framed things a bit better, but overall I’m happy with the shot.

The theme for this week is “Still Life”.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.

You can find the challenges here.

I hope you enjoy.

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
