Second time I photographed Ladyhawke and I managed to do a worse job than the first time. Still, I like some of the photos, such as the one below. It’s not great; I blew a lot of the lighting by not thinking, but I think the form and motion still works.
This is my submission into the three hundred-and-sixteenth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. The theme for this one is “Destination: Fun“.
Gigs often are fun. Not always, but often, and so was this one.

Thanks for joining the challenge. You do a much better job than I do when I attempt to photograph concerts. The lighting can easily be adjusted in post. You captured an excellent expression on her hands and amazing motion, too. It is a vibrant image — and you had fun while capturing it!

If I do, I imagine it’s due to my doing gig photography pretty regularly.
And no; this photo, as well as most of the rest from the gig are pretty bad, lighting-wise. I didn’t shoot to the conditions and there was only so much processing could do.
Whilst I do like this photo enough to share it, I can’t deny that, had I shot to the conditions, the lighting could’ve been much, much better. But at the end of the day, I’m fine with owning my mistake.

I know that it takes a special talent to create dramatic performance photos. I love how the black-and-white adds to the mood of the image.
