I’m feeling quite tired right now as a great lack of sleep and being out in the sun today have decided to meet at a crossroad and keep traveling together.
Due to this, I apologise if this post goes a bit off the rails and descends into nonsense.
Now, where was I?
At my desk at home.
Anyway, today the weather was unexpectedly warm.
Drew and I were going to go do some parkour.
This ended up leading to him, his partner and I going to the beach for a swim.
We jumped off some rocks at Bondi Beach into the ocean instead.
It was quite cold.
I suspect that this is due to the rocks being further out in the ocean than the beach was (although it wasn’t by a great distance).
Anyway, it was quite cold.
It became colder the longer we were in there.
I ended up getting swept into the rock we jumped from by the ocean and managed to gain a few cuts in the process.
It happens.
The wonderful thing about the ocean is that when you go into it, you shouldn’t be too surprised is something bad happens.
Receiving minor injury is not as bad as it could have been and probably something I could have prevented, but it happened and I was fine with it.
Anyway, jumping off the rock was much more fun than I thought it would be.
I don’t think I’ve been in water that deep before and I liked how cold it was.
It was refreshing in a way but it also felt nice to be surrounded by it, even if it was for a brief minute (approximately).
Considering we’re still in winter at the moment, the warm day was surprising and I feel it was utilised much better than it would have been had I spent it at home all day doing nothing, which is what I almost ended up doing.
I was sluggish to leave bed this morning, despite my need to take care of a good number of things this weekend.
The plan was, aside from parkour, to do a lot of writing, go through my photos, spend some time working on music and then do some drawing.
All this ended up getting discarded for the pursuit of swimming, which ended up changing into jumping off rocks into the ocean.
It was worth much more than I realised as I currently feel quite relaxed.
I also got to have a great day out with Drew and his partner; both people I enjoy the company of.
Jumping off a rock into the ocean is something I would gladly do again.
I’m not sure as to when I want to do it next, but I think it would have to be soon, to feel the coldness of the water and how it completely engulfs for a brief moment before resurfacing.
Maybe at the end of September, or even around the middle of October.
Sooner rather than later.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 15:07:58
Written at my desk at home.
Probably could have been much faster.
Oh well.
