I was going to write something earlier but today has been a bit weird and I’m not feeling too up for writing too much.

Instead, here’s my part of the final word for the ending of Cool Try, which is a bit of a saddening thing but it’s leading to something new, so it’s not all downbeat.

A brief bit of background: When I came on to Cool Try I had occasionally written reviews. However, it was something that I never did with any sort of frequency.
I wanted to be doing review stuff at a more frequent rate, so when the opportunity to write for Cool Try presented itself I was happy to jump on board. In 2015 a friend of mine introduced me to Sean. Sean then sent me Cum the Raw Prawn by Cosmic Psychos.

From there I’ve been able to hear a lot of different releases by a number of different artists, had an excuse to conduct haphazard reviews and churned out a lot of words, although I feel I should have written more.

Personally I feel that being part of Cool Try has been a really good thing. The environment has been welcoming and there’s been a trust in my writing and my ability to finish things off. Some times its been a bit challenging (mostly getting things finished in a timely manner), but overall I don’t have a bad word to say.

When I found out that Sean was stepping down from Cool Try I was surprised as I didn’t expect it to be something that would happen. With that being said, he’s stepping down on good terms and we wish nothing but the best for him in the future, blah blah blah and so on and so forth.

It sucks, but at least Sean is happy and that’s what matters.

Sixo spoke to me about working with me on continuing with Cool Try, but she felt it was weird to go on without Sean and I couldn’t disagree with the sentiment. She wanted to first think about what to do next as there was consideration for doing something a bit new and a bit different.

After a few days she got back and the decision was made to wrap up Cool Try, so here is where it ends.

This is the part that explains why I’m really lucky: Sixo and I are working on something that will be coming soon. It will be something that we hope is most delectable. It will be something similar to Cool Try, but also different in a few ways.

For now we say farewell to Cool Try. It was a good run.
