An artwork by the artist known as April Pine.
This artwork is being exhibited as part of Sculpture by the Sea.
I’ve seen April Pine’s artwork as part of the exhibition during one of the prior years.
I wonder as to how much of this sculpture was made “Just for Fun“. I wonder if any of it was made for the fun of creation. Was there only intent to express meaning? Was there the intent to only create something to generate interpretation? Was there a balance between fun and expression, or was there fun found in creating something for expression? Can the artwork be both fun and serious?
Part of the reason that I do photography is for fun, but there’s no denying that there are times in which there is intent. That there are forms of expression and and meaning in photography that I do try to get across at times, although I’m not always sure about what it could be.
I can’t deny that part of being a photographer is that in a sense you are capturing history. I also can’t deny that it is fun.
I like that in this photo you get to see a few different ways of seeing the sculpture through the way it has been designed.
Would could the figures be staring out toward? Are they look at the ocean? The surfers? Are they trying to look toward a horizon that, whilst still defined, is gradually blurring to the point where the point at which the ocean and sky appear to meet will become ambiguous?
This is my submission into the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge for this week.
This challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti of https://pilotfishblog.com/
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya of https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/
Week 3 – Amy of https://shareandconnect.wordpress.com/
Week 4 – Tina of https://travelsandtrifles.wordpress.com/
This week is hosted by Patti and next week’s will be hosted by Leya.
I suggest following and considering participating, but also seeing how other people have responded to the photo challenge from The Daily Post ending.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Very surreal and fun, SH!

Cheers.
The artist seems to work with this structural format a lot.
A fair bit to explore.
