Five-Hundred Word Challenge 875: Aiming for a Time Advantage

Racing against a timer is sometimes fun, but sometimes it also is not fun. It has far more of an ability to keep time than you do and therefore it makes itself so much harder to defeat in the ultimate battle of ultimate destiny. This is of course a bit of a problem, but it creates a great challenge to work against.

At the moment I am not trying to work against a timer, but with it. It may or may not agree with what I put forward. I am hoping that it agrees as that will make it easier for me whilst maintaining the challenge aspect.

You see, what I am putting forward is for time to slow down whilst I do the timed writing stuff so that I can get more done in less time. I think that this is a good idea and whilst it does offer a bit of an advantage over how I normally write, it is in no way biased toward my performing better with loses difficulty in the act of performing well when it comes to writing a whole load of rubbish that seldom, if ever, is worth reading.

I don’t know if the timer will agree to this. I hope it does as the benefits are vast and many and so long as they remain vast and many, I will be able to get more done in less time. However, I’m worried that the timer will have ulterior motives toward rejecting this, wanting to play fair and all. However, it is not fair. It is not fair that I must be constrained by the whimsy of fate and the flowing forward of time. I deserve more freedom surrounding what it is that I do on each day and therefore I should be allows to have the timer slow down so that I can move at a rate that is perceived to be faster.

Ideally, whilst writing I would like for the timer to have time flow at a rate of one second of time for every two seconds of time. Every three seconds of time would be nice too, but you can’t be too greedy with these things. You need to lie low and then see how far you can push your limits. Perhaps if you do this, then you will be able to get far.

Of course if this is not allowed, I will kick my feet in the dirt and dig in my heels and get cranky and all that other stuff. Maybe then I will be able to get my way. It is the only fair thing, after all, that I do get my way in this particular instance. However, if not, then I will have to keep on challenging myself against the timer in the regular way which is of course much less fun and much more boring, but at the very least it is still a fair challenge and one that I can still keep on doing.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:43:36

Just a bit of silly writing for this afternoon.

I like the idea that I was working with on this one. Might’ve worked better without the constraint of a timer.

Written at home.
