A Poem About Crickets Chirping

Earlier on I had an idea for something heavy, though I don’t imagine I would’ve conveyed that well. Anyway, I started writing and scrapped it almost immediately. The idea required more thought than I have the energy for right now and so I knocked this out.

I think this is an okay rough draft.

I hope you enjoy.

The sound of crickets reaches this room
They are far and I am here
I hear them as they reinforce the weather
And create imagery association

As much as they are against the music
Somehow they find a way to fit
As they phase in and out of the rhythm
The crickets’ chirp keeps its own steadiness

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
