This is a photo I took when I was making a cake for a friend last year.
When I opened the carton of eggs he had, I saw this.
The theme for The Daily Post‘s photo challenge this week is “Oops!“.
I think it kind of fits.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Sadly, there was not getting up early this morning to cycle out to Bondi Beach to capture the sunrise.
It would have happened. However, sleep decided to not show up last night and grant me the rest I so desperately craved, which unfortunately lead to me falling asleep at some point between midnight and one in the morning.
from another world
Then I woke up around six-thirty in the A.M.
WONDERFUL!
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
I’m almost certain that my sleep was having a jolly good chortle at my bemoaning of this terrible, heinous fate that I may or may not have brought upon myself.
The jury is still out on that one.
I do wonder to myself about this absolute travesty of an event that occurred.
Maybe my sleep had decided that it was time for it to do it’s own thing for a change, instead of joining me in the rest that was required for perfunctory function this morning, instead of the automated, dreary motions that seemed almost as thought they were from another reality and were traumatically pulled into ours, but not the way, somewhat unaware of their situation and only trying to function as it should but not being quite able to, leading to odd actions like lying in bed for a long time despite being awake and in dire need of a shower to feel shower fresh and be able to power on with the day as feeling shower fresh makes one a shining example of being wonderfully clean and a wake and sometimes powerful beyond imagination… I wish.
Maybe sleep decided that it was time to become some sort of malevolent entity and used me as a small test of its ability to menace and terrorise those that needs its help the most.
Once it saw success, it decided to let me sleep but only for a little while so as to give me a little taste, a little flame of hope that ignited in my heart, then so viciously tear it away so as to extinguish that little bit of warmth that I had and leave me a cold, dead, uncaring husk that it would then use as a host to further spread its influence and slowly curse all the people on our wonderful planet that we call home to function always at a level that is less than optimal, causing mistakes like bumping into something a little more often than one would usually expect someone to do so, and forgetting to carry the six when adding large numbers, leading to a result that was not intended and increasing work load so great that someone goes absolutely insane and ends up yelling “THE SIX! THE SIX! THE SIX IS GOING TO EAT US ALL HAHAHAHAHA, RUN AWAY NOW BEFORE THE CAKE IS REVEALING THE BLACK HOLE WITHIN THE CENTRE OF OUR MIIIIIIIIIIIINDS!”, whilst doing some sort of hypnotic boogie-woogie dance.
This plan is very devious and it might just succeed.
However, there is always hope.

A bit slower than yesterday, but not by much.
I’m pretty sure my lack of sleep had to do with my dinner.
It probably gave me too much energy.
It might have made me postpone what I want to do, but it still allowed me to write this… thing.
HAR HAR!
Et cetera.
Written from my desk at home.
So, I should have gone to bed about thirty-five minutes ago, but I haven’t.
Despite not having my camera, I am going to be getting up to get photos of the sunrise at Bondi Beach.
It’s mostly preparation for the real things.
Now, originally this had led to me talking about what I do and don’t know, and whether I knew what I knew or didn’t know what I knew and how much I knew was what I knew instead of not knowing as other people knew instead of me knowing.
However, as I had a short conversation with Ewe and the timer kept on running, I started again and now this is about how much Ewe knows.
Ewe knows what he knows.
He does not know that what he knows is what he knows, but I know it.
In fact, it’s fair to say that if he knew what he knew was what he knew and more than some but less than others, than he would know that he knew what he knew was what he knew.
You know?
Ewe knows so much that he can dead-lift two fresh summer apricots on the hair of the dandelion that floats on a single wisp of air throughout the sky of our paradise.
He knows so much that once there was a dog and he petted it and some sweat came off his hand and landed on the dog and then the dog started to buzz out and gained the knowledge of it being a dog, even though it already knew it was a dog and suddenly decided to become one of those “jolly good, chap” dogs that people sometimes like.
It wore a cummerbund and then politely sniffed a tree.
Ewe knows so much that if one were to accost a brick due to its intense behaviour, he would be able to tell you how many fibers it takes to make a sausage from the raw earth of the earth.
One tends to wonder that, if Ewe knows all that he knows, then why does he not know that what he knows could be more than what he knows instead of knowing what he doesn’t know is merely a small hole in his vast knowing of things.
Maybe he does know what he knows is what he knows and he would rather not say that what he knows is what he knows instead of saying that what he knows is what he knows.
Surely, there must be some way of finding out the truth to this riddle that extends through time on a cosmological course towards the potential to know.
The only way to find out is to see if one could trick Ewe into answering a question about how much he knows.
If one were to do that, they would be able to find out if he knew that what he knows is what he knows or if the opposite is the case.
If we knew that, then hooray.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 9:55:29
There was actually something about something else (I can’t remember what), but as Ewe did call me during the typing of that one, I started again (also as the timer didn’t stop running), and made it about him.
Here’s to you, Ewe!
Written in bed.
I took my camera to a store today to get it cleaned (as dirt was showing in the photos again) and to get the power intermittence issue fixed.
I get it back in about a week.
We had a storm pass by about an hour ago.
Here are some photos I took with my phone.
As I switched off all the lights in my home before heading onto the balcony with Je, I used a bike light (it works very well as a torch) as a light source.
I think they came out okay.
I do wish I had my camera though.
I hope you enjoy.
On Tuesdays I have two lectures for the subject I am doing over the summer semester at my university.
The second lecturer of that day is a very dry lecturer.
He doesn’t emote much or speak with any obvious energy or enthusiasm.
I don’t necessarily have a problem with this, as he is also clear and concise in what he is saying, ensuring that the information is delivered with minimal confusion.
However, I’ve noticed that it can still be a bit of a hard slog.
On Tuesday this week, I did lose focus at one point.
When I got back into listening, I noticed a small bud slowly creeping it’s way out of his mouth.
For obvious reasons, I considered this odd.
As it poked out, it began to bloom.
The lecturer remained calm and collected and continued to talk, as though what was happening was not significant in any way.
Soon vines and other plants began to snake their way out of his mouth at an increasing pace, but he kept on talking, not noticing what was happening.
Maybe he did but instead chose to persevere.
The speed of the growth accelerated continuously, slowing creating a thick, dense forest that surrounded the lecture room, as well as a fair portion of what was outside of it.
Eventually it stopped.
I could not believe what had just happened, as it’s not normally something you expect to see in your life.
A forest had come out of the mouth of my lecturer, during his dry delivery of information I needed to learn.
A forest that was thick, dense, and luscious.
It was certainly going to attract wildlife that had not been seen in the area for an incredibly long time.
I did not know what to do and felt, to an extent, unable to escape this marvel of nature.
There was still a whole world out there waiting for me, but whose to say that I couldn’t just reject it all and choose to live in this new growth?
However, I chose to stay to the end of the lecture and head home after instead of changing my life around.
Despite no longer being able to see him, his voice echoed through the forest, clear and knowledgeable.
Whilst there was no way to locate him (as it was impossible to tell as to where his voice was coming from), he remained dedicated to finishing the lecture.
It was difficult to tell if he didn’t care that he had a forest growing from his mouth or if he was too stubborn to stop, but if he was going to continue, then the least I could do was remain and listen.
It remained easy to understand and he still was in possession of clarity, despite what had just happened.
So I sat there, taking notes, listening to what he was saying so I could absorb as much of the information as possible.
I wouldn’t have been able to learn more if I left.

I had this idea during the second lecture on Tuesday as my mind began to wander a bit too much during it.
It didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped, but at least I’ve finished it now.
This was written in bed.
Maybe Santa did not read the chimney clause before he tried to get down this one.
I don’t think it was the best idea he’s had.
This is the photo I used as my thirty-fourth submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness“.
This one had the theme of “Santa and/or elves”.
I decided to go for Santa straight away as I would have a bit of an easier time than going for elves.
I knew I could find a Santa around Darling Harbour, so I took my camera there on Monday and started taking photos.
Luckily I was able to get a shot of this one before he escaped his temporary prison.
I hope you enjoy.
On Friday, I purchased a tripod and a new lens as I want to work towards furthering my photography.
I also bought a remote on Wednesday.
Anyway, here are some of the photos I took to test the new gear.
The first was the initial test with the remote, the next three were with the remote and tripod, and the last two are with the new lens and tripod (I can’t remember if I used the remote for them).
The last shot is of Wedding Cake Island.
I hope you enjoy.
This is a photo of a sculpture that was featured at Sculpture by the Sea.
It was created by Ben Fasham.
I’ve chosen this one to use as my submission for this week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post.
I feel that it fits the theme of “Eye Spy“.
It’s probably not what the sculpture represents at all.
Maybe it represents time.
Maybe it represents the tides.
I don’t know.
I’m using this one as, on the surface, it looks like an abstract representation of an eye to me.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Here is a photo I took on Friday.
Ewe and I headed off to Bondi Beach at around 6:15 A.M. for a morning swim (we both prefer to go earlier in the day as there’s less people and usually the surf is better).
I decided to play around with the filters on my phone, leading to this photo turning out the way it did.
The title is how I see the photo.
I think I was really lucky with this one.
The clouds themselves are pleasing enough, and whilst more of the beach and ocean could be in the shot, I do think that they compliment the rest of the photo well.
I hope you enjoy.
I’ve been awake for around fifty minutes.
Eight minutes ago, I decided I should try and write whilst still in a “waking up” state, but I then woke up a bit more (part of the last fifty minutes had been spent drifting in and out of sleep, so I was still not completely awake), so sadly now I am writing only whilst feeling tired.
Soon I shall be at the beach for a morning swim.
That is exciting for me, but I very much would have liked to see what would have come out of me had I started writing whilst still half-asleep.
I can only begin to imagine that not all of it would make sense (but then again, these challenges aren’t always coherent), but I do think it would have been interesting.
I wonder what my not-so-awake mind would have decided would have been good to stream out of it.
I wonder as to what adventures it would have taken me on.
I wonder as to why I am currently writing without listening to music.
I shall stick to not listening to music though as it may slow me down and I seem to be writing pretty fast right now, whilst also somehow not making many mistakes and keeping some sort of coherency going at the same time.
Go me.
Maybe I need to aim to write whilst shortly after waking up more often, as this seems to improve my ability to do so.
Maybe it’s because my mind may be less cluttered with the events of the given day.
I had some dreams last night.
I can’t remember if they were intense or not, but I do know they were pretty… something.
I probably would have left a vague impression of what they were if I wrote just after waking up.
Maybe I would have only written complete, nonsensical gibberish that would have lead to nowhere, yet somehow made complete sense and been the ultimate text in reaching understanding and enlightenment.
I wish.
I should look at getting up now.
I can have a tea before I head off, but that requires me to get out of bed.
Bed isn’t exactly a nice place to be right now, for reasons that I don’t know.
Yes. tea is now on the table.
I shall get up, rise from my place of rest, make my way through the hall and then down the stairs into the kitchen, boil the water that I need to boil and brew myself a tea of great flavours that will warm my soul and put a smile on my dial.
It shall be a wonderful experience that shall make me feel less tired than I do now, and help me get the day accelerated beyond a speed that could be used to describe going fast, instead of saying “kick start the day”.
Yes, I am rambling right now.
No, I do not care.
I may be awake, but I am still tired.
Oh well.
