Here’s some shots that I took of Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday.
Whilst I still don’t care too much about the bridge, I do like seeing it in bits.
I think it makes the steel arch look only vaguely familiar.
I also like that I was able to get these shots whilst far from the bridge.
The third photo is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.
I strongly recommend checking out not only her photography, but also the photography of others that submit into M.M., as well as consider submitting into it yourself.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for sharing your pictures of Sydney Harbour Bridge. I love bridges. My dad is a Civil Engineer 🙂

No worries. A lot of bridges a pretty cool. Whilst I don’t care much for The S.H.A., I do think that it has a lot of potential, photography-wise. Does your dad work with a lot of bridges?

Yes, he helped with overseeing the 2nd Tacoma Narrows Bridge project. And a bunch of others before that one.

That’s pretty cool.

Lovely. The third one, in particular, puts in mind the work of Lennart Olson, whose high contrast monochrome abstractions of bridges significantly influenced my sense of design and framing while at photography school.
Meaning, in my mind, not a bad comparison at all. Well done.

Thank you very much 🙂
Part of why I shared these is because, to me, it might not be the whole bridge, but it still is the bridge.
Also, I’m kind of doing more “experimenting” by doing something I’ve been trying to do for a while, although I think I’ve only realised that now.

Well done, then. And you’re absolutely right about not needing a whole bridge to have a bridge. 🙂
