Five-Hundred Word Challenge 173: Wandering Aimlessly

There’s a certain joy that one can gain from wandering aimlessly because you can end up going to somewhere you’re not familiar with and see things that you may find completely and utterly interesting.

Even if you’re going through somewhere that you’re intimately familiar with, aimless wandering can prove to be a relaxing affair, as well as one that allows you to see things that you hadn’t noticed before, or hadn’t seen in a certain way.

The first step is to open the door of your house.

From there, you step outside and begin to walk in a direction that you can, go at a pace that you are comfortable with and then keep on going from there.

It’s better if you have a camera with you, because then you can take a whole bunch of photos of things.

Sometimes it’s better to not take a camera with you. It depends on how much you feel like doing some photography whilst you go for your aimless wandering.

It also depends on how interested you are in doing photography.

When wandering aimlessly, you can sometimes let your thoughts float away as you enjoy the scenery and watch the clouds float on by in some sort of fast, yet relaxing speed.

Perhaps you’ll end up by a river or a lake and sit there for a while as nature happens around you and you think about things that are happening in your life. You’d probably think really heavily but you’ll be at total ease about the whole thing because you’re feeling quite relaxed.

Then you’d probably get up and wander around a bit more, end up walking through the streets of your suburb or (potentially) other suburbs near you and see unfamiliar houses and sights.

If you’re wondering as to why I am writing about this, it is because I don’t have anything to write about and just want to get something out so I don’t break my streak which is a bad reason to write, but right now I don’t care so I’m going to keep on going and you may keep on reading.

So anyway, wandering…

Sometimes, when they’re not outside your  window going off their head for no discernible reason before six in the morning, you might see some birds flying about or perched in a tree looking at the things around them as they might be looking for something to eat, or a prospective mate, or something that we cannot understand as we are not birds.

You may see some rather beautiful flowers, as well as some horribly wilted ones.

Sometimes you might even see a bunch of kids playing in a park and remember when you were a kid playing in a park.

Most of the time when you wander aimlessly, you will probably find that you may enjoy the lack of experience that you are experiencing and that’s probably the best thing about it.

You just have to make sure that you do enough aimless wandering.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:31:22

Better than the last one, but not as good as it could be.

Written at work.

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should.
