Sinking Sun Over Redfern

Passing through a patch of sky between clouds, the sun continuously moves beyond the reach of those who would chase after its light.

Here’s another shot of the sunset over Redfern.

I was mostly playing around with processing, seeing what would result when I tried to get certain things to happen, which is why these look the way they look.

I like all of their colour and light levels, but I’d have to say that I like the first and the third the most.

The first due to it looking something like a painting and the third due to being less colourful than the others, yet not quite feeling as though the colour has been drained.

The last one was included to give an idea of how the scene originally appeared.

I like that in all the photos the word “ULTRA” written on the crane is visible.

There’s something similar to a powerful, moving feeling that I get when I look upon this. Maybe it’s because the photo is somewhat dramatic and moving due to how quiet and still it feels, almost as if the area is empty.

I hope you enjoy.
