so I got back from the field trip which was fine and dandy. That happened on Sunday.
Didn’t have much sleep the night prior, but I managed to somehow stay awake and get off the bus at Hornsby (which was much faster than going the whole way back to UNSW), then went home in order to finish off the packing of the house so I could move into my friends’ attic.
Yes, once again I am in the process of moving house, something that seems to occur far too regularly in my life.
It is about as fun as one can imagine, but such is life.
Packing things into boxes is definitely something that is fun, let me tell you. There’s nothing quite like spending hours upon hours of your life putting things into boxes so that they can be moved into a storage unit for a while whilst you sort out your life and save more money in order to find somewhere affordable so then you can move all your stuff that is in boxes to another location in order to go through hours upon hours of unpacking them.
Exciting stuff.
So once more I move into another place. It has been a bit of a slog over the past couple of days, but I’m alive and things need to happen in order for other things to happen.
The third field trip to Smiths Lake was okay.
Actually, that’s a bit of an unfair statement. It was decent.
There was a fair bit of hard work, but I did learn a fair bit and I enjoyed it more than a few other field trips.
I didn’t enjoy the commute. It was lengthy, but it wasn’t a whole day of traveling in order to get somewhere, which is something that I should say is alright, I guess.
There certainly are worse things in the world, after all.
Being on the water for a good bit of the field trip was fun.
Coming back to pack everything I have into boxes was not fun.
Still, that much is done and today I head back to the house to move my stuff out and into storage, which will be the most fun bit of the whole thing, despite something that I cannot quite think of right now as I’m tired and whinging and need to go to the bathroom at some stage as I haven’t gone since I woke up and feel the need to go, which is something that I should do something about sooner rather than alter, but I’m feeling lazy so it will have to wait for the time being.
Once more at Smiths Lake I was a meal for mosquitoes. Wasn’t as bad as it was the last time (I think), but I’m still itchy now which is something that I find annoying.
Perhaps if I have to go up a fourth time, the mosquitoes will decide to leave me alone a bit more.
Or they will not.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:21:15
Slow, but this was written in a slightly awkward position where I’m hovering over the laptop more than usual.
Written in an attic.
