Stare

Here’s a photo of a face that is not a face, which is part of what I think makes it such a strong image.

Well, I think it’s strong. The photo is intense.

I think that in monochrome the details of face seems so much more than it normally would, although this particular face is already a bit full on, given the right lighting.

The creases in the face are emphasized, the details are sparse and even though there are defined features, much of the detail comes from the lighting rather than the face itself.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.

Due to being the first Wednesday of every month being themed, this one had the theme of “Circles”. I used this shot for the theme due to the eyes.

Monochrome Madness is predominantly-driven by its community. Please consider taking part , or at the very least checking out what other people are submitting.

You should also check out what Leanne Cole does outside of Monochrome Madness.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
