It has been a while since I last took a photo of The Lewis Wolf Levy Fountain.
I think the lady is trying to keep the object in her hand away from the heron.
I think this due to the way the scene is framed. The lady is turned away from the heron whilst holding the object above her.
Maybe the heron surprised the lady.
I feel that this sculpture captures the act of motion and expressiveness really well.
This is my submission into the one hundred-and-thirty-sixth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The theme for this one is “Subjects Starting With the Letter S“.
I feel this counts due to it being a sculpture.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
This week’s challenge is curated by Patti. Leya is curating the next challenge.
The challenges are pretty fun and there’s a lot of room for interpretation that doesn’t get in the way of enjoyment. If you’re into photography, then I suggest participating, or at the least checking out what other people are submitting.
I hope you enjoy.
Haven’t seen this sculpture before now SH – rather a strange portrayal to me. But perfect for the S challenge!

I’ll take a full shot of this some time and share it as there is a bit more to the artwork.
I’m not sure as to how often this sculpture is photographed, but if you go through The Royal Botanic Gardens’ entrance near The Art Gallery of NSW it’s pretty easy to find and see.

Ah yes, SH. Statue and sculpture. Perfect for the challenge! What an intriguing image. You’ve got Sydney, too!

Glad you think so.
In a sense, yeah. To be honest I hadn’t thought of using Sydney for the challenge. Not sure why. Still happy with what I submitted, however.

Cheers, and glad you do. I do like how the water impacts the scene. I think I shot it at just the right speed.

I like the angle you took for this sculpture with water running from the top. Great shot!

Thank you : )
I’m not sure I would have shot it this way if I wasn’t doing gig photography, to be honest.
