This I took back in July at the same location as these three photos.
I was trying to frame the reel in a specific way and it sort of worked.
Not quite what I was looking for, but I’m content with the result, though I may attempt this shot again some time down the track.
Anyway, I like how the fire hose reel stands out. Sure, it’s more in focus than many of the other objects here, but it feels like a splash of colour, despite there being colour throughout the photo. I also like that most of the colour is just enough. This isn’t an over-saturated scene.
This is my submission into the one hundred-and-sixty-ninth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The theme for this one is “The Ordinary“.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
This one is guest-curated by I.J. Khanewala of Don’t Hold Your Breath. Patti curates the next one.
I recommend participating in the challenges. They’re enjoyable and allow room for interpretation of the theme without straying too far. If you don’t participate, then I recommend that you at least check out what others of the Lens-Artists community are submitting.
I hope you enjoy.
A pop of red always draws the eye and the lens SH – good catch!

Nice and ordinary, except the extraordinarily good light

I agree with Tina, SH. The pop of red really draws me in.

Hmm. Better than the ominous abyss of the parking garage. It’s good to have those fire reels labeled. Someone might mistake them for a shoelace. 🤪
