Five-Hundred Word Challenge 496: I’m Still Rambling

It stormed yesterday afternoon and I managed to avoid the whole thing, somehow.

Well, I guess that the reason that I managed to avoid the whole thing was that it passed before i left work.

Now I am in a room and outside I can hear the sound of people who don’t understand the meaning of peace and quiet, for whenever they enter an area, they think that the best thing to do is be as loud as possible for a while. It is unnecessary stress and it wears on my nerves.

Oh well. It’s not like I’ll be doing anything about it anyway.

I’m tired. Life is exhausting. Whinge whinge whinge.

At least the day has set itself in front of me and I will be able to tackle many a thing that needs to be tackled throughout its presence.

I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to go anywhere, I don’t want to think about thinking.

I want to go back to bed and lie down and sleep a bit more. I want to be as azy as possible.

I want to be so lazy that I go mountaineering just to avoid the hassle of it all.

I think I’m just being really lazy at the moment, but I am sick and tired of hearing people who think that the best thing to do is be really loud all the time, argue with each other and not understand that other people might want a bit of peace and quiet.

That is something that really is frustrating me more than I would like to admit.

I need to get away from the city. I need to do some exploring once more. I very much want to go to the bush.

I also want to work on music, which is something that I will be doing very shortly, assuming that I get off my ass and then sit down on my ass in order to do the music thing, for the music thing is something that I really want to do.

Still, there is the terrifying call of work as it tried to lure me into its gaping maw for another period of a number of hours that drag on into some sort of “forever” that cannot be truly comprehended.

Actually, it can, but sometimes it feels so incomprehensibly massive that you end up being consumed by its entirety.

I’m sure that I’m just being pointlessly dramatic, but sometimes the drama is a bit of fun to embrace.

Sometimes it is more fun to embrace the drama than it is to face up to yourself whilst pushing other people away who try to find out what is going on.

I don’t know what I’m going on about anymore, so I guess I’ll end this with whatever words that I can come up with, as there’s still a fair bit of space to fill and I don’t have all of the time available currently, although I wish I had.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:03:42

I guess I’m in a rambling mood.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 495: I’m Rambling

And so thew day has begun, and I am standing up, typing away to get to some sort of ambiguous target even thought the target is not that ambiguous at all.

I am standing here, I am thinking about National Novel Writing Month, where I shall write once more a manuscript that will probably never see the light of day.

I am thinking of the sky, the sun, the other stars that are not the one that we refer to as the sun, and pother things that shall carry me home in a way that involves movement.

There are a lot of things to consider and this break is not long enough to allow a full consideration of all the things in which I would like to spend considerable time considering.

Such is the way of the life that I am leading at this current moment. Well, that is what I tell myself.

The wood underneath the keyboard is brown, and my fingers are moving excitedly, in a sense. I guess that it is not an inaccurate description, but it probably is more inaccurate than I would like to admit.

I would like to be at home in my underpants, letting the sun caress my skin in a way that suggests some sort of warmth, but right now I am partially under the ground.  There is no sun as it has been replaced with walls and fluorescent lights.

This new floor is much more open than the old one, and sound travels much farther and much more obviously than it had prior to the move to a new area.

I’m rambling.

Today is going to be a good day. It will be a long day, but it will be a good day. It will be a better day when the air is felt once more on my body as I glide with some ease down a road or a cycle path and into another location, do a loop, head home and use the power of my legs to move me at a pace faster than walking.

Today will be a good day when I no longer have to be in a room that feels somewhat-saddening to be in. this is not a pleasant room and this is no longer a pleasant place to be.

Something is wearing out its welcome, or perhaps it had done so a long time ago and I had failed to realise.

On the plus side, soon it will be time to go home. There are less than six hours to go, and it is not the busiest of days. These are both good things. I can get some stuff done and then move onto other things.

A lot of the time I write as I love the process of writing, but I’m sure that somehow, in some manner I’m looking for something not necessarily deeper, but possibly something beyond the way I write.

I’m always striving to further my ability.

It’s a most wonderful journey.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:48:63

Rambling followed by more rambling.

Westfield

Quite possibly the most flattering shot of a building ever taken, ever.

Part of Westfield Bondi Junction, in all of its glory.

I think that the building is structurally interesting.

I like that overall, the photo is pretty unflattering, It showcases the building as it is. there’s dirt on the exterior, it’s kind of imposing and really rigid in appearance.

At the end of the day, it’s just a building.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 494: A bit More Lazy Than Usual

So I was going to share something that was pretty angry last night, but I decided against it as it’s not worth the time or effort to publicly drag an office through the mud… for the time being. Depends on how things travel over the next few weeks.

For now, I want to write something a bit happier than what I was going to come up with yesterday, but there is nothing that comes to mind at the moment. Oh well. I guess that that is something that I would need to deal with somehow in some manner some way toward something.

I could revert back to anger, but that would still be pointless. I can instead just think about getting my job done and getting out for the day so I can focus on other, more productive things.

Things that need to be done in order to be ready for an event that shall occur next week at its end, or at least what is considered the usual end for the week, which is the day that is known to many as Friday.

There is an event and I will be in attendance, as it were, or something to similar effect.

I do know that I am using some words that I have used prior to this writing. They are words that I have sued in a particular combination many a time.

I also know that currently this writing is going much slower than I had hoped, but that is the thing to deal with when you get a bit lazy and stop writing as much as you had prior to your getting a bit lazy.

Wait.

A bit more lazy than usual.

There. Now that I have corrected the sentence, it is time to move onto other things.

Tomorrow I shall be attending Sculpture by the Sea once more. I shall be attending to do the photography thing and there shall be photos taken of the sculptures that just so happen to be by the sea. Once this is done, I shall make my way elsewhere. Before then, there will be things that I need to take care of. It will be a day of busy activity to a certain point, and then work will once more commence as it does during the week of working.

I think that I’ve lost where I am. I can’t remember as to what I was going on about.

There was something. There was a point to be made, but now all I have is something that is blunt and potentially ineffectual.

On the plus side, it is quiet at work and that means that I can work on other things that I am trying to work on before the end of the day.

Well, it was quiet at work. It’s not so quiet anymore.

Not much I can do about that, but sometimes you just have to roll with the flow of the things that you do in a work day.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:39:06

A decent speed, but I think it’s about time I start focusing more on the quality of these.

The Bike is Parked

I haven’t cycled in a while, which is partly due to laziness and partly due to the rain.

When Leanne Cole‘s challenge for this week was announced as being “Sport“, I decided to take a photo of my bike.

So, here’s a photo of my bike.

I think that the angle of the shot works well with the bike, and I like that there was enough light to prevent this photo from looking too flat.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.

You can find the challenges here.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Lens-artists photo challenge #15: Crane in Bondi Junction

Once more, a photo of the region in Sydney known as Bondi Junction.

I don’t know how it is with other cities, but Sydney feels like a continuously “Changing” place. It probably has to do with all the cranes that have decided to migrate here.

Bondi Junction has seen a lot of change over the years. It’s also seen a number of cranes, such as the one in this shot.

This is my submission into the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge for this week.

This challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti of https://pilotfishblog.com/

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya of https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/

Week 3 – Amy of https://shareandconnect.wordpress.com/

Week 4 – Tina of https://travelsandtrifles.wordpress.com/

This week is hosted by Amy and next week’s will be hosted by Tina.

I suggest following and considering participating, but also seeing how other people have responded to the photo challenge from The Daily Post ending.

Anyway, I hope you  enjoy.

Anti Guitar Trio and Tangents: Live at AAC//107 04.10.2018 Review

This Review can also be found on Culture Eater.
Please check out the site and see what other people are contributing.

Anyway, here’s the review

—–

Anti Guitar Trio opened the gig.

Playing a set built around guitar interplay, the trio weaved in and out of each other with ease.
Their technical skill didn’t get in the way of their compositions. There was no room for showing off as the group used their abilities to continuously drive the songs forward. The music was complex, but it was appreciable as music.

Throughout their set Anti Guitar Trio’s songs oscillated in their intensity. There was nothing too far one way or the other, and all shifts came at the right times.

Anti Guitar Trio also employed a good use of dynamics. The sounds of the different guitars layered well and there was a nice application of both harmony and dissonance. Due to the use of cleaner guitar tones it was easy to perceive what was going on.

Overall Anti Guitar Trio provided a satisfying, enjoyable set.

Tangents were on next.
In contrast to Anti Guitar Trio’s set, Tangents’ primary focus was based around improvisation. Their songs had a slow build, would peak, then come back down.

Cello intermingled with keys, percussion and various other sound effects. Layers built upon layers, rising and falling, moving in and out of each other. The members moved forward, responding to the needs of each segment, seemingly letting the music dictate the direction.

There was clarity to the proceedings, and Tangents performed with a good deal of passion. It is difficult to say as to how enthusiastic the band was. However, this was music that didn’t demand outward displays of enthusiasm. It was music that wasn’t about being showy. It carried you along and took you to into itself.

The gig was good. Both groups performed well and neither short-changed the audience.

If you have the chance, go see either of these groups. Based off the performances they’re of different worlds, but  both groups are worth the time.

We so Readily Call Them Bin Chickens

I took this photo last month, I think.

Whilst walking through Centennial Parklands I came across some birds picking through rubbish that someone had left near a bench.

I don’t know about the rest of Australia, but I do know that there are a number of Sydney-siders that like to refer to the Ibis as a bin chicken in a derogatory manner.

The older I’ve gotten, the more this has grown to disappoint and anger me as Ibes are a protected species in Sydney due to the fact that we destroyed their habitat. We destroyed their habitat and then have the gall to denigrate them for trying to survive.

I hope you enjoy.

Temporary Leaving of University

So I’ve temporarily quit university.

It is temporary as I will be returning to finish my undergrad at some point in the next few months.

University was beginning to have a detrimental impact on my mental health. That and I need to work a bit more at the moment.

It was also impacting my ability to write in a “creative” manner.

I woke up this morning, snapped at my partner for no real reason.

After leaving home to run an errand I went to uni to work on an assignment.

The version I brought in to work on was not the most current version I had. Still, there was not much writing in order to get back to where I was.

I managed to get a small amount of words out and then found myself unable to write any more of the assignment. There was a need to continue writing, but I wasn’t able to continue.

I don’t know as to why I’m writing about this. I thought it would be worthwhile, but I’m not so sure anymore. Oh well.

I filled out a request to defer and then left.

Not sure if my request will be accepted, but at the moment I can’t go back.

Throughout the semester I’ve found myself growing more and more stressed over the workload and I need a break before it begins to affect me too much. It’s been something that I’ve been considering for a while, so I’m glad that I’m doing this now rather than in a few weeks down the track.

Well, that’s it for now.

Partial View of Bondi Junction

Another photo of the Junction of Bondi.

This doesn’t give the best view of the ground, but then again little of the area isn’t obscured by “Buildings“.

Well, little of the hub area, anyway.

It was raining and I think that it really shows in this photo.

I think that the clouds one more help to frame the buildings and I like that most of the structural design is quite similar, yet still has some slight differences.

Leanne Cole recently has started a new photo challenge.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.

You can find the challenges here.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
