Five-Hundred Word Challenge 483: More Than The Three Words

Fatigue. Fatigue. Fatigue.

Well, I had nothing else to say on this fine evening of evenings, so that is what I shall leave you all with to read on this evening of fine evenings existing within a paradigm of evenings that are of the quality known as fine, and by name it is named fine, for it is the descriptor for the type of evenings within this paradigm of evenings that are considered as being fine, hence the name “fine evenings” to describe the evenings that have been collated over time together into one space, thus allowing us to know that they are related to each other in some manner, for if they were scattered and you had to look for all of the evenings that were considered as being fine, which is the descriptor used to describe the evenings that have been collected together as they are considered fine, thus making the word “fine” a fine word to use to describe the evenings, then the time that you would have would not be considered fine.

Of course, if I just leave you with just that, then there would be very little point in sharing this post. Or maybe there would be a point. I’m not really sure when it comes to this one. I guess that if I just left the whole thing as just three words and little else, then it would be sparse and maybe there could be some meaning divined from the text that is being written, but I never know with these things. Realistically, I should have the text lead into something else, followed by another thing, but at the same time I think that it stands pretty well on its own. In a way, it gets the point across and I don’t have to worry about expanding any further, so it’s kind of neat on its own. However, I am sure that there is plenty more that I could add. What I could add, I do not know. This is a bridge that must be crossed in order to divine the true nature of the reality of the words and whether they need to be expanded upon, but I do not know if this is a bridge that I dare cross. It is a bit of a scary prospect as I do not know as to what could lie on the other side for me.

What if there is some form of success that I am yet to approach? What if there is something else that lies beyond my being of existence that may lead to a new path hat is yet to be trodden? What am I to do?

Where am I to go?

How am I to know?

Do I really think that I should expand the text to something else, or am I merely just trying to get thoughts out?

I guess I should leave the text as it is, but there really should be something more than the three words.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:00:80

I need to be doing this earlier in the day.
A bit too tired at this point for the writing.

I also need more sleep, but that is another story for another time.

Hanson

The concrete manufacturers!

This place has been around for a long time. It produces concrete.

There’s rumours that it will eventually go, but Hanson actually own the space (as far as I’m aware), and I kind of hope that it does not go as it means more apartments and more view reserved for those who pay for it.

I’ve walked past this place so many times. It’s a wonderful blight that remains as a part of the industrial history of the area.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 482: Been so Lazy

So, I’m sitting here and wondering as to why I’ve been so lazy of the past few days. well, weeks, really, but let us just say days as it’s a bit easier.

I think I’ve had a slip and fallen somewhere and its taken a bit of time to get back up as I just wanted to lie down for a while. I think.

Realistically, I’ve no sound reasoning other than I need a break of sorts, as it were.

I think.

I don’t really know. I don’t know as to what I’m going on about with this one. I just know that I felt a need to explain the not doing much of anything and now I’m here, doing stuff once more but a bit later in the day than usual. It’s not always the way that I operate, but in this instance it is as I am currently operating.

I do know that this is currently worth the time, but I’m writing it and it being written is sort of a resumption of the things that I was trying to do here, so there you go.

Is this really worth the time to read? Who knows? Is anything I’ve written ever worth the time to read?

Who knows?

Who knows if any of this is worth the time to read?

I can think of other things to say, I think, but then again, can not I think of other things in which I should be writing.

I know that I need to rest more than I have been as of recent times, but rest enough is not what I am doing and tiring myself out is what I’m doing. Probably need to eat better as well, but that is another story for another day.

So, for the past few weeks: music has been worked upon and photo processing has been occurring. Work has been occurring, as well as the process of being paid and of course there also has been study that has been going on and concluding as it is resuming, if that makes any sense. It probably does not, but it also probably does.

There’s been a lot and I have been lazier here. There really has not been enough writing being done and there has not been enough photography and therefore, I need to lift my game once more. I need to get back into the process of doing the things that I do. I need to pick up my regularity and stop being the lazy person that I have been over the past few weeks.

I need to think of other things to say in order to fill up the remaining space so that I reach the target, but I don’t really have anything else in which I can use to fill up more space.

I’m sure that I’ll think of something. There has to be something in which I could use to make sure that I reach the limit I have set myself.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:43:45

Well, this is merely okay at best. Still, it’s a resumption and it’s a bit more of a dusting off, so… yeah.

Quite Possibly the Stupidest Photo I’ve Ever Taken

This was taken when I walked to Olympic Park.

I know that when I was doing this pose it wasn’t entirely serious… I think…

Anyway…

I think that my form here is somewhat interesting and the implication of “action” is also somewhat interesting.

I like the bird in the photo.

I think the photo is wonderfully stupid.

This is my submission into the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge for this week.
This challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti of https://pilotfishblog.com/

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya of https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/

Week 3 – Amy of https://shareandconnect.wordpress.com/

Week 4 – Tina of https://travelsandtrifles.wordpress.com/

This week is hosted by Patti and next week’s will be hosted by Leya.

I suggest following and considering participating, but also seeing how other people have responded to the photo challenge from The Daily Post ending.

Anyway, I hope you  enjoy.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

This cathedral also makes an appearance in this photo.

I thought the architecture was rather impressive and I felt that the Cathedral was, in comparison to St. Mary’s Cathedral, much more lean in design.

The steeple raises high above the rest of the building, and both the design and colouring stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding buildings.

I hope you enjoy.

Bounding Through the Water

A photo of a dog getting wet.

Someone would throw a ball and the dog would go after it which meant bounding into the water and then swimming after the ball.

I like the form of the dog in this photo. You can’t quite its movement, but you get a strong impression of how the dog is moving.

Water around it is fanning out  as it is displaced as there’s a bit of force and energy in the dog’s motion. It contrasts well with the low waves in the rest of the shot. There are two forms of disturbance, but one is more obvious than the other.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 481: Something About Problems

Looking toward a thing that cannot be seen, there are ways around as there are ways to stop the continuation of a path long dead before us all.

There are always ways around the things that are perceived to be impassable, but of course this is not always seen. To be fair, sometimes it is not something that needs to be seen, but instead felt. You need to feel your way through things in order to find the solution. However,t his is not necessarily good advice all the time, as sometimes feeling needs to be replaced with thinking and looking for a way through all the things that cannot be passed in the mind of the thinker and the heart of the feeler, or the mind of the feeler and the heart of the thinker, or however you want to splice the whole thing together.

When a problem is encountered, it should, if possible, be examined from all angles available in order to find out which is the best way to overcome. Sometimes walking away is the best way to get around the things that are in the way. It is not always that something must be confronted and resolved through acting upon it, although walking away from a problem is also a form of acting upon it. I guess it is all a form of reaction to something that presents itself to us as an obstacle in some way.

I don’t know what I’m going on ab out, but I’m sure that it makes sense to someone out there.

I think.

Sometimes when a problem comes along, you must deal with it then and there. You don’t have the room to think it through and you don’t have the room for error. I imagine that in these situations, you’ll probably already have the solution but you’re forced to think on your feet a little more than usual.

Sometimes something like this can lead to an immense amount of pressure. Sometimes you feel that the best way to deal with a problem is to let it happen and sometimes that is indeed the best way to deal with something. This is more likely to be a situation that seldom occurs, however, as the more you let a problem occur, the more you  let it overcome you, I think. Of course, this is always situational. Of course, I am, rambling now for I think that I’m onto something but I’m not giving it the time of day required to think it through and thus I am just skimming the edges and dancing on the surface rather than going in as far as I need to in order to work out the whole thing and see it from all angles in order to overcome what I am setting up for myself.

I guess that would be a problem within itself, possibly. I don’t know. I’m merely giving it all some very light thought.

I think this requires some deeper, more critical thought.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:01:92

So this all started with me just throwing out whatever and ended up being about (in some capacity) problems.

Go me, or something.

Lurking in the Shadows

Here, a fish as seen at the Melbourne Aquarium.

I like this photo for its ridiculous nature.

It could be a villain in a horror film, but no; it’s just a fish.

I hope you enjoy.

Deconstruction

There’s some demolition work happening at Circular Quay at the moment.

This was taken a few weeks ago.

There’s a great level of detail in this photo, I think.

A number of different textures enhanced by the photo being rendered in monochrome.

I like the patterns that are formed, as well as the photo giving the impression of something happening rather than outright displaying something happening.

I hope you enjoy.

Primitive Calculators: Live at The Gaelic Club 24/08/2018 Review

This review has been published on Cool Try.

If you do read it here, please also check it out there as there are some photos of the gig and you’d be supporting Cool Try.

In the interest of journalistic integrity and honesty, I need to state that I played a very brief set during this gig. Unfortunately knowing this ruins a joke I had in mind, but if I didn’t advise of this the gig review would be dishonest. I’d rather you know when I have a personal involvement in something I’m reviewing.

Opening the night was Powder L. Her set was comprised of a mix of varying electronic sounds that pushed more for atmosphere than they did songs. It was an interesting and solid set. However, it lacked presence.

Following Powder L was Jasmine Guffond. Her set also focused more on atmosphere than songs. She leaned a little more into the intense and expansive than Powder L. Jasmine Gufford’s set was also interesting and enjoyable, but it too lacked presence.

V was next. Her set seemed influenced by electro-industrial and other similar electronic genres. Some of the songs were good. Some of the songs were okay. It was easy to hear what V was doing. Her set also had a fair bit of energy. There was more presence than the prior artists. However, V’s set was also lacking, albeit in a more indistinct way.

Evil Heat were intense from the get-go. They had a massive, almost oppressive electronic sound. There was little relenting in their set. Whilst it bordered on overbearing at times, the duo didn’t bore.

Den played a set that was cold and dark. At times it became difficult to hear what they were doing. Adding to this, the vocals were inconsistent enough to be distracting. Still, they got through their set easily. Overall they were tight and somewhat-entertaining.

Just after Primitive Calculators set up they introduced some guy by the name of NAME. NAME wasted between five and six minutes of everyone’s time. He introduced himself as “Sufficiently Advanced Numerical Processors” and proceeded to make a number of mistakes. His music began “tense”, descended into noise, then became more ambient. He got off the stage almost as quickly as he started, the bastard. He could have been better. For what it’s worth, some people thought his set was good.

Then Primitive Calculators began.
If you weren’t there, then you really missed out.

Despite some minor flaws, most of the artists of the night were (and are) worth seeing. Primitive Calculators blew them all out of the water.

Of course you expect the headliner to be good, but Primitive Calculators were in an entirely different league. They were tighter and clearer than everyone else by a significant margin. Their vocals shone, the instrumentation was full and expansive and their energy was unparalleled. If there were any mistakes, then they were not noticeable.

Whilst least one song came from prior releases most of what was played was from ON DRUGS. The set had a smooth flow. Each song had an appropriate space to fill and each song did so without losing its identity.

Primitive Calculators managed to put so many bands out there to shame with a set that was over far too quickly. They played songs that translated live far better than most bands can hope for and they did so without anything coming off as forced.

If Primitive Calculators are performing near you, then I strongly recommend you go see them. Even if you don’t like their music, they’re worth seeing for how well they perform.
