Afternoon Tide

Whilst wandering around Huskisson Beach during the first day of the marine science field trip I came across a small creek.

Here we can see a small gathering of rock oysters in the creek.

I think the tide was rising, but I’m not sure. I didn’t stay long enough to see.

Perhaps it was low tide.

Actually, I think it was low tide as when I had to collect samples during the field trip it was noted that the tide was low and this was taken before that happened.

I like the way that the water frames the shot, as well as how the oysters cut their shape out among everything.

So much of the image appears smooth and then the oysters are there, jagged in their appearance.

I hope you enjoy.
