There is an oscillation, but that’s something I’ve covered before, so instead of covering that I’m going to talk about something else instead.
Across from me is a friend of mine. Let’s refer to him as… Bren. Bren works.
I’ll come back and change that if I ever spruik any of his stuff.
For now, his name is Bren and that is how we shall refer to him.
Tomorrow morning Bren and I are getting up at the worst hour. Well, it’s not the worst, but it is early as Bren is going to the airport to catch a flight to Melbourne to catch a flight to Japan.
He’s looking forward to it.
I’m looking forward to his going and experiencing the country.
Makes me want to go back even more. It;’s been four years and next year will be the fifth. I was planning on going this year, as I was last year and the year prior, but things keep getting in the way, or so they say. However, next year it is happening. Definitely.
That out of the way, tomorrow is Bren’s day and at the moment he sits across me, idly killing time and doing things to distract himself from the tedium of doing very little. We’re listening to an album. The album is King Crimson’s Discipline, which is an album that I wholeheartedly recommend that a lot of people really should listen to. It’s crafted well. Really well.
Some might say it’s an excellent album that really works well as a whole piece, but also as individual tracks, but I digress.
At the moment I feel like I’m wasting Bren’s time, but there’s little to do and I haven’t written enough over the past few days. Been a bit tired, had a lot to do. Work bringing me down, but that’s another story for another day. That’s something I’ve said a few times, but right now it still remains as such and that’s not something I can do much about.
Well it is, but words are needing to be used and as such the words that I am using are the words that form the sentences.
Bren’s continuing to distract himself, I’m continuing to sit here and write and all in all it’s been a decent day.
Being able to help people out (in this case Bren’s crashing the night to make it easier to get to the airport tomorrow) is a pretty good thing, I think. Of course you can’t always help people out, but when you can I think it’s a good idea to do so. It makes their lives a bit easier, even if it is in a really small way. It’s a lot better than refusing at every single juncture.
Better to help out and make things a bit better than just not for your own sake, or something.
But again, when you can. It’s not always possible, but in this instance it was. Hence my helping.
Well, time to stop writing.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:39:25
I didn’t have much in mind for writing, which is a good thing.
I like that this is a small bit of life rather than anything else.
Written at home.
