Five-Hundred Word Challenge 524: Exegesis of their Dint

So of course I am sitting here, looking for longer words to fill the void. Words such as “destitute”, “destitution”, and so on and so forth, for there needs to be less shortening and more lengthening in order to see some sort of circumference around the main sources develop and so that I can say with clarity that there is something that, with a certain level of exclamations that go along the lines of “indubitably”, that there is a point in the chase of which the catch opens the latch to the thatch of the nest that the cuckoos rest upon and nurse their young to adulthood, or at least until they are old enough to go out into the wide open, vast world of which they have been set upon, but without all the tomfoolery of which they are forced to embrace on a regular basis, for there is a lot of tomfoolery and there is a lot of embracing of that tomfoolery, but then again, none of theme experience the exegesis of their dint.

Of course this is all a form of speculation on my part, and there is no telling as I sit here and whittle away the minutes in order to produce the production of the era of the times. Soon there will be nothing left to produce and all we will be able to do is embrace the incoming tide as that is what we seem to have coming our way, or something to similar effect.

What is it all when it is all said and done? There is no form of geology that can truly undermine the sources of inspiration that we take in the pursuits of the arts, and it is much better that way, for these are two disparate things that can come together in a form of confluence that, once we know the source, can lead to a great many a creation and best it be done before the downfall that seems to be coming our way, and very fast at a rate that could suggest that the unsustainable truly is unsustainable and we need to essentially change our ways overnight if we are to have a chance at survival.

Then again, the invertebrates are beating a hasty, undesired retreat and the insects are leaving us to go somewhere far removed from us and as they dwindle away we twiddle our thumbs going “oh well” and expect the renaissance to kick in sooner than expected, but what will replace the insects once they have truly left? Could we really complete all the tasks at hand and hope for a better thing to come about? The answers are cast in doubt as the shadow looms ever larger and despite our attempts to bury into the sand our faces and ears, there is only so much sand and not enough space to do all the burying that we’d desire.

Then again, the light will switch off and the door will eventually be closed.

Well, this kind of got dark.

A bit unexpected, but I guess there was stuff on my mind that led to the shift in tone.

Lucilia sericata

Been a while since I’ve seen one of these little critters.

Well, it hasn’t been too long as I’ve seen a few over the recent days, but as an overall it has been a while.

This is a rather simple photo. I think you get a good idea of the size of the fly relative to the area it is in.

I like that its colour and shape comes through quite well.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s photo challenge.

The theme for this one is “Bugs”.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.

You can find the challenges here.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 523: Pull From the Winds

There is much to pull from the winds as the sails fill with then. There is a direction in which we shall be pushed and we must follow the path that is set out before us. Who knows where it will lead?

Across the ocean as we are dragged along over waves and sometimes over flats. The wind leads us to where we need to be taken until the wind decides that that is no longer something that is required to happen, in which we will then be put into a position where we must guide ourselves. But until then we are being lead by the wind and it pulls us along as we pull much from it to power the vehicle of choice.

It seems that the speeds in which we travel are ones that are slow, but for now they are not when we are on the vehicle. We are moved at speeds that can be seen as rather fast, for they are in a sense when seen from certain angles and positions in life.

The ocean shall be our farm when necessary, but hopefully that does not need to be the case. It is not due to the content of the rich waters, but more for the desire to not expend the energy chasing those resources, as well as the desire to not consume those resources in the first place. There are plenty on our vehicle and with enough careful and measured use, they should help us last at least until we can be in a safe location of sorts.

Storms shall whip up the water into a fury and this is something that shall be navigated and bypassed as necessary. Of course, the hope is that this is something that can be avoided entirely, but there is no telling with the ways of the ocean and the phenomena above its surface.

The vehicle in question is not one to desire taking on a lot of water, so hopefully there is little water to take upon its being and it can get through the toughest of ordeals with ease.

Its design is sleek and sturdy and it allows the wind to guide it along with little difficulty. Sails are large and efficient and the winds are all too generous with the direction and force.

The difficulty will mostly lie in getting to the destination with enough time, assuming that nothing else arises of course. That said, of course the difficulty in getting to the destination should prove to be no difficulty at all. It is going to lie on good navigation and a good wind to carry us forward and not lead us astray.

We shall pull much from the wind as it guides us and we shall be directed toward the goals in which have been set forth. We shall be carried along and see to it that we have little to worry about as often as possible, but there shall be a lot of effort.

Sometimes I really wonder about what I’ve written.

This probably could have been a little more adventurous, or something.

Campsie Railway Station

I like the way that Campsie Railway Station appears in the afternoon.

Not sure if this photo does a good job of capturing it, but I think that at the least it gives an idea.

There’s a mix of the old and the new, architecture-wise and the platforms appear to be quite long.

I like how the afternoon light casts the “Shadows” around this part of the station. There’s a strong shift and so there seems to be two separate moods created.

I’m sharing this photo as part of The Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This week is hosted by Tina and next week’s will be hosted by Patti.

I hope you enjoy.

The Bridge

There was a space between two cliffs. A large chasm that separated two distinct lands, or at least they seemed distinct from the opposite view to each other.

They knew of each other well, for commerce needed to occur by crossing the gap between the two cliffs. The lands were not entirely depended on each other, but in crossing this gap they made sure that they were able to take what they needed and give up what they thought they could.

On either side of this gap was a large expanse of earthen-coloured rock. Strong reds, yellows and browns extended outward until the horizon seemed to consume them not in a sudden movement, but what could have been a fog, or some sort of degradation of detail.

In the sun it was strong and apparent. Almost vivid in its dullness. In the night there was not a thing that could be seen. Any time there was need to cross in the dark, those that did were more than able to carry their own sources of light that would give just enough.

It was, of course better to be robed under the sun. Sometimes, depending on the situation, it was also better to be masked. After a long distance on one side, the rocky, crevasse-filled landscape did give way to something a bit more lush and green, but of course this was relative to the predominant landscape. It would be much longer before reaching something that could be closer to something much more thick with vegetation.

Underneath and reaching to the horizon the land was significantly more flat, wide and open, but it was a space that one did not want to reach, for the fall was long and the chance of survival unlikely.

A singular bridge closed the gap and allowed for the entering of the other territory with ease. It was old, but it was sturdy.

Few travelers outside of those that were traders would cross. There were guards, but their positions were for the most part not required. More often they would be there for some form of assistance rather than anything that required some sort of security.

Often it was still safe to cross the bridge in winds or storms of various types, but there were times when the bridge needed to be closed.

Whilst this was considered something of little issue, there was the rising desire to build a new one, mostly in case something happened to the one that was already there, and so something considerably sturdier was being planned. It was rare for the opposing governing bodies to meet and so usually their meeting was something considered serious.

For the time being though, the bridge that was there remained the sole mode of crossing.

A City Between Two Liquid Layers

Sydney CBD from a Boat, this is a photo of.

I think that based on how the city is framed, it appears as though it’s smaller than it just so happens to be.

I like that the city appears to just kind of be a line.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 522: I’m Sure Something Could be Gleaned From This

Racing for the prize this morning.

Coffee just so happens to be black. Practising the moving of the grace position over the keys on the board of keys in order to find the right keys that will unlock the door that will allow for transitional discrepancies to be opened for the way forward and thus the knots shall be untangled and the tangles shall be laid out in tandem with their other selves so that the whole picture can be analysed in one fell swoop.

That is to say that on this morning of mornings, as it just so happens to be, I am in front of something and I am working my way over the keys that are in front of me as there is much work to be done, blah blah blah and you get the idea.

It really isn’t a bad day… so far. There is much to see before the day can be conclusively over and I am merely just a participant who will see some, but not all of it. Sad times, as they say.

So I sit here, I type, I think about things, I listen to a little King Crimson as I race on onward to a target that I have set myself and soon these will have to be renamed, or something.

I need to get stuff done, but this is still a good way to start. We are yet to see how this will all turn out, but I do know that one of my index fingers are not enjoying the onslaught of keys being stroked, but soon it shall too be a fine adapter. Well, hopefully the hand will be a fine adapter. I think that I am still getting used to this subpar keyboard. It takes time, but I will get there eventually.

Now, where was I? Oh yes. This coffee is certainly one that can be described as liquid, rather than solid. Wait, that’s not where I was. I was and still am in a chair in front of this screen and I am trying to communicate to you, the reader as opposed to the listener. I am trying to communicate through the medium of text and there is a lot of text that is being produced.

There is so much text being produced, and not just by my hand. There is an attempt to reach out with the words that I put here, but I need to bring it all back down to earth, for if not doing that, then doing what I am is not something that can be done unless done it does do desirably, or something.

But I am sitting here and I’m enjoying the speed at which I am currently working as it means I’ll probably get a fair bit of stuff done before the inevitability of work commences for the day.

Well, that’s what I’m telling myself. I need to actually not be lazy and get on with the doing of stuff.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:49:57

More writing.

Recently I’d been wondering about whether I want to keep doing this.

Of course getting back on the horse resolves the issue.

Concord Hospital in View

Concord Hospital as seen from a view that displays a significant amount of vegetation.

I like that the vegetation layers are of different plants and so much of the area in the shot seems overgrown.

I also like how calm a photo this is and, aside from two objects, looks like a natural area.

I’m sharing this photo as part of The Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 521: Very Sudden for Them

Scaling and oscillating around itself whilst also moving upward, outward, inward, and downward, circular and yet never meeting despite passing through like spirits on the streets and rubbing the shoulders with the grass on the fields and watching it all drift on by, as the clouds move like the wind in the sails.

A delicious delectable desire distraught that which can only be imagined and screened on the seasons of the earth, but there can only be a funk ultimatum when we all prick the plaster of the lint that we think is only going to be bothersome over time rather than as something that is over a mysterious distance that distorts along the line where the land meets the image and the heat rises out from the dry soils. It seems to wave in ways that we don’t think about, but do see. It operates and distorts but as we get closer it gets farther away. Is it even worth pursuing?

The shapes form and separate and reform and lead to something new and different and yet old and familiar all the same. There is a space and a build and a fall and a rise and a crash and a sink and swim and beat and hit and pulse and throb and cast and set and sun and observation, but there is little else to connect these other than in forms of the illusory.

But I digress.

Of course, soaring over soundscapes and landscapes and seeing new worlds elliptical and translucent is what I truly crave, but there needs to be some sort of tempering of the expectations, for the worlds that I am trying to let myself be exposed to is merely one of an illusory nature and I don’t know as to where this will all go, or all lead to, but I do need to get into my ship of space and fly across and over the landscapes and see many creatures that could easily pass for figurines at such a distance of proximity, but of course they will transform into full beasts of majestic natures once the approaching commences and possibly completes. Maybe they will become as such before the landing.

Maybe they will be curious, maybe they will be afraid. Maybe it will all be very sudden for them, but there is only one way to tell and that is through the process of doing rather than the process of observing from a distance. However, this is one observation that will have to be ignored for the time being as there are other avenues that need to be pursued and explored. There are other forms of space in which I need to get to and see and like a form of oil that leads to a form of becoming, I need to become flat and like the oil that I so wish to avoid in order to become just like it but I also need to see the long glowing crest of light.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:02:80

Not sure if I should be spending more time on these or not at the moment. There’s a lot on the plate and it needs to be consumed.

Still. This one is more of an exercise, I think. I was looking for imagery and that’s what I think I produced.

Written at work.

Forming Downward

More rain shots.

I really like the texture of the water in this shot. I think it has a lot to do with the angle, but I think the water works really well.

I also like that it’s not completely in focus.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s photo challenge.

Leanne’s now merged two photo challenges that she runs. The theme for this one is “The Letter W”.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.
