Five-Hundred Word Challenge 432: Float and Act

Pulling the sails tight and drawing them close in order to conceal the evidence of a murdered body floating down the river and by the viewers and the tourists, but that was always the plan.

Only due to the fact that the plan went off the rails. Perhaps fate had hand in this action, but there was no time to think about such a thing when there was bloodied work to do in this early hour of the day.

The boat drifted on by and soon there were people in view. The sails were down and those that were still standing needed to pose as some who may have had a small problem with getting their boat out of the river and into the open harbour, then out onto the ocean.

Of course, when the boat was close enough the the shoreline people asked if help was needed, and continuously help was rejected, for there were secrets that needed to remain as such.

Perhaps it was not intended for the whacked to be on the boat at the time, but even the best planned plans can go awry due to a number of different things.

On and on the boat drifted toward an exit and on and on more people were seen.

More people could see a pile of sails lying on the deck but none could see the slowly seeping red viscous liquid trying to reach out far from under and around the gentlemen who were doing their best to work out what the problems were with the sails not going on the way that they were meant to.

It was a clear run and, despite all forms of tension, there seemed to be no chance of failure.

Of course, it was always there, but it was easy for the cohorts to convince themselves that they were in the clear and that they had nothing to worry about at this point in time.

A breeze picked up, but it eventuated to nothing for the boat was unable to catch the wind at that time.

Well, it was unable to capture all of it, for the wind was still strong enough to gently guide the boat out and along the river further, but of course this was with the aid of the currents flowing outward at that time of the day.

Out of the river and into the harbour, and there was not much farther to go. The body had remained fresh and hidden and despite the distinct spreading of the red, everything still had been flowing with little difficulty. The standing people had gotten so far into their act that it seemed to be coming naturally to them at this point. They were bouncing off of each other and working their roles with grace and control.

Slowly through the harbour they drifted and they came to the exit. It was tense, but they were successful. Once away enough from view, the sails went back up.

The body went over.

I was aiming for tension (I think), but it escaped me.

Overcast Opera House

I’m not sure if I lined this shot up well.

Oh well.

Here’s a photo of the Sydney Opera House. As with many other photos of the Sydney Opera House, this one shows the Sydney Opera House.

What a wonderful building, looks amazing, blah blah blah.

I’m not sure as to how common this view of the opera house happens to be, but I do like that in this photo the view allows for a display of the interaction between the overcast sky, the light that is coming from it and the Sydney Opera House itself.

I think that the contrasts are a little better blended in this photo than my usual attempts, but this is mostly contained within the sails rather than the base.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Old Pair of Shoes

Someone had left their shoes on a rock.

They were sitting there, worn out and waiting.

I think that it’s interesting seeing an old pair of shoes on what is likely to be an old rock.
They kind of compliment each other.

Both old things sitting there, bearing witness to changing times and yet unable to record any of that which passes.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Lukes Bay Sunset

A photo taken on Thursday displaying the sunset over Lukes Bay.

It’s been a while since I’ve allowed myself the opportunity to see a strong sunset and unfortunately I missed a fair bit of this one, but I did get a few shots that I was pretty happy with due to the amount of colour in the sky.

The clouds seem to be leaving a fading trail on one side, and they also meld with the colour of the sunset pretty well.

The colour also trails nicely on the texture of the water, I think.

Overall, probably a relaxing shot.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 430: Work Day Ahead

There it is.

The thing to which I am chained. It sits there, staring as though it knew that I were to approach the altar of the task at hand. It is smug in its appearance and it knows t hat there will be no quarter to which I can retreat.

No room for error, no room for motion.

There are only swift strikes in which I can inhabit and those spaces are few and far between.

Every motion has purpose. Every stroke has direction.

There is a result of which a reasoning cannot reach, but there will be something at the end of the rainbow, lest it be a tunnel that tunnels straight into the horrors that I keep locked away for all to hear.

Perhaps the task at hand it to accept that all that I am doing is coming to terms to that which I choose to hide away, but who knows, really?

I’m sure that there are answers, but like most to  the time that I mention “answers”, there are no real answers and all it is is a method of trying to get away and divert the text to something else.

Sometimes it works.

Most of the time it does not work.

Well, that’s what I choose to believe, anyway.

The task at hand needs to be completed before there can be other tasks to consume.

The collar that I shall put around my head will guide me through all the directions that I need to maneuver, but the real question comes down to whether I will follow them or not.

There are crying voices in the void tearing at the strings and cutting a swathe through the ears, but they shall be addressed and addressing them shall be done in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Not,my fault if they don’t get the answers that they want.

They shall run up and pile upon the narrow stairwell and I shall knock them off one at a time, in order to get to the base and find the truest of voices that shall be waiting patiently in order to receive the best rewards that it can, for some voices know that there is little point in gnashing and screaming and would much rather prefer to receive good service rather than create an aggressive environment.

My task shall lead me across lands wide and vast but none of those lands shall remain as such, for the narrowing must occur and there must be some sort of resolve at the very end of it all.

This is what I need to tell myself.

There is a mission that needs to be done and it needs to see an end.

Regardless of how temporary that end may be, there shall be one. There shall be no rest and there shall be a reprieve. There shall be a break, but meaty justice shall be meted out before then, for there is a task at hand rather than at one’s foot.

Not entirely obtuse, but perhaps an interesting way of writing about work depending on your idea of interesting.

Glorious Rock Dove

A wonderful creature with beautiful plumage looking off into the distance.

With that being said, it was probably keeping an eye on me.

A common, yet majestic bird that is treated with far more derision than is warranted.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 429: I’d Rather Be

Man, it’s cold.
Woman, maybe it is not cold.

Well, there’s your introduction to this post.
Maybe there is another introduction hidden within the chosen words, but that is hard to tell at this moment for I have already moved on and so should you, unless you’re looking for the hidden inertia contained within or something, or something.

Who knows?

I know that my back is sore and I am sitting here trying to get an assignment done, and yet my mind wanders to rolling hills and the ocean and running through a forest, although I’d rather walk through a forest as that way I see more things and notice more dangers, therefore increasing my chances of surviving the passing through of a forest.

I think I would much rather be taking photos right now instead of working on an assignment that is due within three hours. I say within three hours as right now I have less than three hours to finish this assignment which I should have started days ago.

Oh well.

I’d rather be on my bike, cycling around and doing things.

I’d rather be procrastinating than working on my assignment.

Still, it must be done and done it will be.

soon it will be complete and that will be one less thing that I have to worry about.
This of course means that I will be able to focus heavily on the cram that will need to occur in order to get more things done.

To be honest, I probably don’t care anymore. There are other things that I need to worry about, such as obtaining more permanent accommodation and other things that are not presently coming to mind.

Oh well. I’ve made my bed, I need to lie in it or something along those lines.

Something about overcoming the adversity that is currently ahead of me.
something else about rising to the occasion and surmounting the challenge.
Something about having gone through worse things and that this is going to be fine so long as I keep on pushing on.

Then there is something else about how what matters is if I make sure that the thing is completed and as good as it can be, followed by something else about how getting it done sooner will allow me to move onto other things which is already covered, but as I seem to be a fan of repetition at times, I may as well say it again in order to make sure that all my bases are covered.

After that I will think of something that will allow for a sudden, abrupt ending to the text that is being written as sometimes I do not make efficient use of words and of course that always leads to some issues when it comes to attempts at making a large expression or gesture, but that’s the way to roll when you’re working toward something that may or may not be a goal, sometimes.

For example: this ending.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 428: Morning Mashing

There’s stuff that I need to do, but I’m here and not there and starting this off the way that I normally would start off all of these posts.

There are loud typing sounds echoing off into the distance, but that’s okay as they’re there to achieve something.

That’s what I need to keep on telling myself anyway.

Today is a short day at work. I am running a shift of approximately five hours. I say approximately as it may run over that allotted time if I get a call that goes on for a while.

Today will be a day of active antagonism. Why? There needs to be room to treat the customers with the contempt that they deserve.

After all, their continued abusive tendencies are what leads to the formation of hard, violent diamonds.

There will be calls, there will be laughs., there will be tears.

There will be smiling and sad faces and all of that other stuff in between all the other, other stuff.

There will be voices that will be heard from a distance.

Until then, there shall not be much use of the utility of voice, for there is typing to be done and thing s to be written and there is not much time to get as much as I want to get done done before the start of my shift, but that’s okay for at least if I can get even the littlest smidget completed before I need to be bombarded for money, then I can consider at least that a little victory and that will lead to a modicum of success, even if it is only a temporary thing due to my continual moving of the goal posts so that I may forever chase them instead of getting in and stopping entirely.

Well, that is what I am currently telling myself. Maybe I’m using it as an excuse to warm up my hands and wrists and not actually achieving anything that I want to achieve.

Who knows?

Certainly not I.

Well, there is only one way to find out. Actually, there are plenty of ways to find out, but that’s another story for another day.

Can you tell that I am currently procrastinating?

I certainly can.

Perhaps all this will lead to the achievement of going on another walk where I get to see the sights and sounds and smell the refuse that has contractually built up wherever people choose to roam en masse, for it is a requirement that rubbish builds up where people care to dump it and there’s no issue with that whatsoever.

None at all.,

Zero.

Perhaps I  should just get this finished off so I can continue my conquest of readying myself for a whole lot of unreasonable expectations from people who can’t get it through their head that they aren’t entitled to what they think (most of the time).

However, I am sure that there will be some lovely customers that help make the day.

Bleeding Oak

Here we can see an Oak carton that has spilled its “Liquid” contents onto a marble surface.

It doesn’t completely look like chocolate milk (to me).

I think that the puddle fanning out is interesting, as well as how it interacts with the pattern on the surface.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.

I hope you enjoy.
