Five-Hundred Word Challenge 427: Vibrations

It pierces and it menaces and it drives along through various stages, but as distinct as it is, it is also amorphic as it reaches some sort of meaning and communication through the medium of air being moved in order to carry vibrations to someone in order to be understood in some form so that they too can respond in kind.

Sound travels through the air, bending and smashing and reaching out in all directions and bouncing off things in order to go to other things, expanding and collapsing and going through a whole stage of directions for some sort of predilection that cannot always be understood, but if it is reaching out you’re going to go and touch and feel and know the unknowable in some sort of manner that cannot always be known, but always repeats endlessly and tumbles through some sort of stymied growth upon the precipice that you feel and see, but close behind you as you’re told to close the door when you come in and “Don’t worry about the shoes; it’s better if you take them off and don’t stain the carpet”.

You’re of course reeling outside of yourself and into the direction of forward whilst the food is prepared, but the hill has reached its zenith and soon too must begin reeling off the words that can operate the sound into a tangible form but you’ve gone too far and now you cannot turn back so you may as well jump around and into the ocean and swim about for a while, as the vibrations that you can feel are morphing your head into something that is passing through you and you’re losing yourself in a trance as, for a very small moment in time it has stretched beyond all reasonable understanding and you have no frame of reference but you’re there and all is really still and there’s some sort of clarity that you’re perceiving and it is letting you know that this is a moment of clarity.

However, there needs to be things done so, whilst the moment elongates around your very being, everything must once more resume and get on with the living and the breathing and you’re realising that you’re in the middle of a pulsating, throbbing mass of people that are all reaching and sweating and grabbing, for life is being celebrated in a manner not unbeknown to yourself, but form is reaching out in communicative way, even though it is as formed as motion is to the left, but you  never know when the first trike will come as the space warms and congeals and yet you can only know the vibrations of the invisible object that you are trying to hold in your hands.

Of course, you reach out and reach out to touch but once more you’re opening the door, then closing it behind you in order to ensure a cool breeze doesn’t penetrate the thick warmth of enclosed buildings that you so lovingly embrace.

I was trying to express atmosphere and feel rather than anything more specific, I think.

Maybe I was looking for shape, texture and flow rather than a direct understanding.

Maybe I was trying to build imagery.

I don’t know.

Bali Memorial by the Sea

This has been around for a while.

I like its design and the way that it looks in contrast with the surrounding area.
I think that the sculpture is strong and designed really well.

I also think that the location it is in works well with light and shade as it’s in an open area that gets a lot of light exposure.

This is my entry into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.

I recommend checking out Monochrome Madness, as well as Leanne Cole’s work.
I also recommend that you consider participating. It’s been going for a few years and it’s a good way to be involved with a small, fun community.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 426: A Fish Leaves a Mountain

There is a feeling in my hands and that feeling is leading the race today. I know that there is a way to get to the end and that is through the rigorous completion of all that will ever be and the undoing of all that has ever been. This is no simple task, but I’m sure that there will be solutions to the answers that drive the questions along in their coming forth and reading all the things that will be written whilst eating an orange.

I don’t see the exit, but I’m sure that if I follow the path the exit will be reached within the required time that it needs to be reached within.

There will always be a way, but instead of doing all of this. Perhaps I should go down to the pier and pull out a rod for the purposes of fishing and then cast it into the water and hope for all the fish to come and bite down so that I can then catch them, so that then we can go on adventures throughout the world and see the things that a fish would not normally see, such as the internal structure of Mount Everest.

It would probably be of a certain temperature in there, but I imagine that it would have good illumination which would then lead to an illumination of knowledge.

These things always have carry-on effects and the effect in this case would be the learning.

They’d tell us to sit there and learn all that we can and the fish would be saying “I’m a fish and why am I doing this?”, and I would be saying “They don’t need to know that”, and then we’d be learning far more than we would  ever know given the circumstances.

Of course then I would want a blanket as it would get a little cold, then the fish would tunnel its way back to the ocean and return to where it was residing as it was a fish of the salt in the water of the ocean and it needs to return so it can complete the journey o-f the fish and then share its story through the generations as things gradually change and leave it behind, but of course there will be other journeys on which it will traverse, for it is a fish with an innate sense of curiosity and needs to experience the world in whatever way that it can, for if it does not then it will grow restless.

The fish just needs somewhere that it can return to once in a while.

Well, with that being said, I would have my blanket and be within Mount Everest. Then I’d finish my learning and then go back down as it would feel so passé in this post-dot com-era, and I need to was my clothes, for I cannot ask people to do my dirty dishes for me as that is a little unfair to ask someone.

MORE RAMBLING.

I do like the flow of this one. I think that as far as flow of words go, it works.

This could have been much better quality-wise, however.

Moving Walkway

This was taken on the recent weekend.

I was playing around with long exposures in a moving walkway.

I like how all the lines stretch and blur , yet still leave a strong impression of the shape of the walkway area.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 425: Face Still Attached

So my face is still attached and I am at work, but one of my hands hurts and I’m here and it’s quiet and I feel muddy and there are too many uses of the word “and” in this sentence, and there is also far too little use of a good sentence structure, therefore leading to the containment of far too much use of one word in this sentence, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on what you consider as being good and being not good.

That’s your call, really.

I know that here I am and there I am not and here goes the events which will lead to my inevitable typing of the words and giving them a form that can be understood, for words need form to be understood, or something.

What’s up with this weather? I know not where it is going, but I do know that I will get to somewhere if I learn how to understand its form and function better than I already do.

It ranges from cold, to wet, to cold and wet, and sometimes it is a little dry, but not often.

This is a real issue to deal with and it is driving everyone crazy.

Well, it’s not, but that is not what I’m trying to imply here.

Actually, I don’t know as to what I’m trying to imply.

All I know is that right now I’m mashing away on this keyboard and I am trying to defeat time in a battle that spans a longer time than I would care to admit.

If only my ability to type well could be matched with my ability to type fast.

If only my wrists could hold up against the onslaught of the keys trying to push back, then I would be a better writer, or perhaps not.

I don’t know as to what I’m going on about. I feel pretty muddy today. I need to eat healthier and get more sleep.

There are a lot of things that I need to do. I need to learn about fish. I need to spend more time learning about fish than I am currently spending, as the time I am currently spending could be described as being “very little”, and that would not necessarily be inaccurate.

Still, I might be able to razzle the dazzle and somehow make a strong comeback and work out what it is that I am doing with what I am writing, although this one is probably more just out of the need to write and stay warm and in touch with my inner self, as based on the speed that I am currently writing, I’m most certainly feeling the warmth in me build up, but I should probably slow down as I don’t want to do something that would leave for a mistake and then end up feeling the cold far worse than I could ever imagine, as that would not be something considered pleasant.

Crown of Buildings

In this photo, a crown of buildings is what I see.

I’ve taken a few photos of the Sydney CBD now and it’s not often that I find it looking any more interesting than something that could be mildly interesting.

Still, it does make for a good subject on which to practise.

I do like how the buildings are organised and clustered as it seems as though they are reaching to a point the closer to the centre of the photo they are.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Coogee Beach, Giles Baths End

It’s all in the title.

You can’t see much of the rock pool even it’s almost entirely in the shot, but you can see the entrance on the cliff.

I like the detail of this photo. I think the sunlight does a good job of bringing out certain details.

However, I think it could’ve been a little sharper overall.

I guess I’ll have to go and retake the photo some time.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 424: The First Three Songs off of California Hotel

How much more of a solo could inhibit this song that is currently playing? Probably a lot more, if that was indeed a question that needed to be asked.

However, it certainly does slide along quite well with the sounds that I’m hearing that are playing and moving along to a single point in time where they will, I imagine, reach some sort of consensus and come to an end rather abruptly as they raise and inhabit and inhibit your ability to do the thing that is not the thing that you would not do and instead enable the thing that you would do, if that is indeed what you are looking to do on the day of doing the thing and so forth.

But the waves, man, the waves that come in and sine all over the place are reaching my ears and pulling on something in order to get something out and that’s the way that it all goes sometimes.

It’s like hearing the bass roll over and over and someone turning around in the bed when you’re trying to wake up but you can’t get up as you’re the bed and you don’t know which way is forward, which would be a bit of an undesirable situation, if you know what I mean.

Still, there could be worse things to worry about but the percussion is twinkling in the space between each bass thud and guitar tip-toe and it rises and falls in the only way that it can, which is to say that this is another song and not he previous one. This one seems to be a bit more of a slide and a glide than the other. It just seems to be doing its own thing and looking for a way out of the box but won’t burst into anything other than another end, but that’s okay as my ears are thinking that it’s all a good thing and not a farce at all.

Where’s the quiet space? It’s there. This seems to build into something else but I don’t know. The synths are now poking at something and then the bass and percussion have come in and they seem to be a little off-beat but at the same time going along with no issue, so I guess that this is all implying a form of tension but the only tension I can hear is in the song, and it all seems to be some sort of mystery that needs to be unraveled before the end of the song but I don’t know how to get there as the bass throbs away and looks for the killer but there is no killer to be found.

I guess that there is a rise and fall to the whole affair, but the tension is there. It seems to be referencing past songs played in tense scenes in films, but I don’t know man, it could be anything, so long as I get to keep on feasting.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:04:29

So this was in part influenced by a certain part in a certain book by a certain band, as well as another book, as well as the listening to the the first three songs of Trans Am’s latest album California Hotel.

It’s currently raining outside, so that may also have to do with the way this turned out.

Porphyrio melanotus

More birds!

So these are Australasian waterhens.

Large feet, easy to adapt to a number of situations.

In this photo they were running. Well, one of them was beginning to run and the other was at first.

I think they were trying to stay away from me. Most likely reason.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 423: How my Mouth Feels at the Moment

So this morning I’ve been eating my lunch and that’s probably not the best idea that I’ve ever had, but sometimes that’s the way things go.

There’s a fair bit of chili in what I’m eating at the moment and as it comes in and tingles my tongue, I can feel the walls of my mouth begin to roar and howl in pain as I slowly dip into another state of being.

There is so much tingling that I can feel it creeping around and slowly loosening the way that things are operating as the haze slowly increase and looks to move things around like when you get that massive “thunk” that clicks along the sides of the roof and the saliva drips down and carries all this mystery toward another haze and you’re whirling around and looking and all the sweat is falling down but not like a waterfall whilst all this spice dances throughout your mouth, making its own party and you’re among the crowd dancing as badly as everyone else and not feeling awkward about it and slowly but surely you’re all like  “bow  wow woah wow boom pow bow shig shrigley swoof huh” and then as the blob becomes another form entirely and transforms how you envision you can only start and wonder as to what you’re going through as the heat rises and you can only colour what you see but not what you hear and there’s no surface tension but it’s all in your face and a brick can only consummate what it is that you’re experiencing but you know that you’re in a field that you’ve never seen before and the flowers are looking at you and burning away at your face but they’re fine and you know that it’s hit you like a thing that hits hard and decides that sizzling is the only option but you’re trying to wade through this fog and there’s no reach but your fingers stretch out and try to find the day in order to know what its like to feel another object that can give you a frame of reference in this place, but you know that it’s all turning to oil in an oil field and yet you’re only sliding along in blocks of staccato notes yet you can only heal the wounded child on the hill over the cliff by the sea, and yet there’s still tasks to do and you can only look upon yourself  as you flatten out and take up the whole expanse in order to know the life of being an existence on one dimension as viewed from a certain angle, but it wouldn’t stop and you’re still waiting for the calm to reach so your mouth will calm down and tell you that it;s safe for another bit and yet you slowly go under yourself and look forward to another tomorrow, another dawn, another day that you are alive!

So that’s how my mouth feels at the moment.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:12:55

I think I’ve had a little too much chili paste.
