This is my twelfth entry into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness”.
I took this photo on Monday as Anna and I walked from our places to the Royal Botanic Gardens and back.
This is a fountain in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
I found the fountain to be commanding of attention.
It seems rather powerful and the pose of the figure carries a lot of grace.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
I’m currently on my way to training with Drew.
I just saw this at Central Station.
I’m sure there’s a reason as to why this ends four to five metres from where I took it but I can’t work it out.
Maybe it has to do with the emergency button.
To me, it would’ve made more sense to section off this part as well.

Here are some photos I took in early April, around the time Sydney had the large storm.
I was heading home after work.
Whilst I was on the train I noticed there was water trapped in the window.
I’ve seen this before but I’ve not had a camera on me to take pictures, so I took advantage of the situation.
I like it when this happens.
I like watching how the water is affected by the motion of the train.
I like seeing the patterns the surface of the water creates.
This was my eleventh entry (specifically the third image) into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness”.

I was able to get my hands on a New 3DS in February.
I had given up on fixing my old 3DS as when I fixed something, something else would break.
When I obtained the New 3DS I had to do a data transfer as I wasn’t interested in starting from scratch.
With some jury rigging (a toothpick to keep the battery secure and blu-tack to keep a ribbon in place) and occasional AC adapter switching I was able to get the old 3DS to successfully transfer data to the New 3DS.
At one point part of the old one broke but it still kept working.
It was far more intense than it should have been.
Here are the pictures I took of it happening.
I’ve decided to use this for the weekly photo challenge.
The theme for this week is “Broken“.
I believe that, in a literal sense, the old 3DS is a strong representation of this.
It was very much broken, yet it was still working.

This is my tenth entry into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness”.
Ewe and I were bushwalking in Mount Kuring-gai on Sunday.
We went early which really paid off as we were able to spend a fair bit of time in the area.
Whilst we were heading to Apple Tree Bay (our first stop during our walk), we saw some webs with dew on them.
I haven’t seen webs like these before.
I found them to be fascinating. They looked far more intricate and complex than other webs I’ve seen but they retained the same beauty and wonder.
Due to the dew, they were quite visible in the sunlight.
I spent a small amount of time looking at them but it was satisfying.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
It was good.
I think it’s safe to say that it was very good.
The shots were excellent.
The acting was solid and the characters felt believable (to me).
The atmosphere was appropriate for the tone of the film.
The soundtrack didn’t feel out of place.
The pacing was very smooth.
I really appreciated the story not treating the audience like an idiot.
Sometimes I feel that it is a rare thing these days.
I also appreciated the dialogue being kept to a minimum, with far more attention being paid to what was happening instead of what was being said.
There are far better reviews out there than this one.
Personally, I believe the film sells itself well enough.
I recommend seeing it.
However, I will say that Tom Hardy not pouting in any scene is a major negative.
My apologies for the relative quiet over the past few weeks.
I’ve been a bit busier than usual recently.
I’ll be putting up a fairly lengthy post by Sunday (I hope) and then I’ll be resuming regular posting.

There’s nothing special about it.
I think it’s a nice picture of the sun behind a cloud.
To me, it looks almost like the sun is going to burst through the cloud.

This is my ninth entry into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness”.
There’s not really much I can say about this photo.
I think the way these connectors look is quite interesting.
They’re a bit weirdly shaped and always seem to come off as ominous.
Maybe it’s the angle I’m capturing them from.
It’s also a bit weird to notice them poking out of houses.
Generally it’s not something I picture when I think of a house but when I look at one I can usually see them attached in some way.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
I was sitting at my table after just having finished dinner when I was unsure as to what I was going to write about.
Surprising, I know.
I tried to find words that extended beyond a mere five sentences, yet there was nothing.
I tried to put myself into poses that would hopefully increase my ability to think.
I idly scratched my head, not realising that it was taking my left hand away from my keyboard.
Once again I was at a loss about what I should be writing about and I was not gaining any momentum.
One of my hats – a fedora – decided to speak up.
“You’re not going to get anywhere if you don’t write about something”, it said.
I’m not sure as to why my hat decided to speak up at that point. It had watched and not uttered a word in the past.
“Do you have any suggestions?”, I asked.
“I may have many suggestions. I may have none. I don’t care much for whether you’re able to churn something out or not. Your thinking disturbs me and I’d rather you go back to writing” it replied.
I was taken aback by this. How dare my hat find my thinking disturbing. It was not its place to think such a thing. Whether I am thinking or not is my own business.
“Why does it disturb you? My thoughts are my own and not yours.”
“I have to put up with them. They are far too tepid and dull for my liking.”
“Tepid and dull? My thoughts are wonderful and insightful; full of imagination, discovery, knowledge, and freedom.”
“So you say, but you don’t have to hear them all the time. There is hardly anything that could be considered original contained in your mind. It’s all variants of the same few thoughts that you’ve always had. You may be able to dress them up in different ways but that does not make them different.”
I found myself at a loss. My hat was not being very kind and I began to feel offended. It had no business to criticise what beautiful thoughts I had that I believed were private.
It did not have my permission to insult all the amazing things I dreamed up in my head.
I felt that I had to take a stand against this most unmerciful attack for I found it to be completely unjust. No hat of mine had the right to say what this one did. It had proven to me that it was not interested in assisting me with my writing.
I had to do something to protect my dignity and honour against a bit of carefully moulded attire. It may have had an opinion but it was not one that was worth lending an ear to.
Then I realised that my hat was talking to me.
I decided the best course of action was to eat my hat so no one would ever know.
It didn’t go down well.

It would seem that when I go a few days without writing I slow down more than I would expect. I’ll see if I can test this out properly this week.
To be specific, a part of Greenwich.
This was taken at the start of last month from my office and on the same day as this.
We recently moved to a higher floor which led to better views of the surrounding area.
On the day I took this there was a thick fog visible from my office.
I decided to take a few pictures to capture it as well as I could as I didn’t know when I’d get another chance to do so.
What I liked most about the fog is how it made things disappear.
It was as though most of the city wasn’t there.
I found it to be relaxing.
I think that in this photo the fog makes this part of Greenwich look very small in the sense that it looks like a model set.
I’ve decided to use this for the weekly photo challenge.
The theme for this week is “Forces of Nature“.
