Five-Hundred Word Challenge 319: The Weather is Treacherous

Yesterday I was carrying my camera all day. It was raining but I had my camera and my tripod with me as I was hoping for a glorious sunset.

The weather report, something that I checked twice in the morning said that it was going to stop raining in the evening and clear up a little bit which is what inspired me to take my gear along.

I was going to find somewhere nice to sit whilst taking photos and watch a really nice sunset.

Well, to be fair, most sunsets are really nice to see, casting a beautiful light across the land as the sun sinks below the line of the horizon, giving us a beautiful display to herald the coming of the night, a cooler time of the day which is no less full of beauty and wonder than the day can be if we allow it to be full of beauty and wonder.

Anyway…

I was carrying my equipment. I had other stuff to take with me as it was a university day and it was not fun carrying all the stuff I had, but that was the consequence of choosing to take my stuff with me.

By the time it had stopped raining, it was night.

It was also still quite overcast.

Now, as one can imagine, I found that to be rather annoying. I wanted to get a good sunset and all the day would do is rain.

Of course I did not have to water my plants which is something that I consider to be quite advantageous, but I also wanted my sunset and quite frankly, because the weather did not obey the weather report, I am quite angry.

It had every single obligation to follow what was predicted. It is not right at all that t he weather did not obey what was set out. This is an outrage and everyone should be up in arms about this great treachery. Completely unfair, I tell you.

How would the weather like it if I went out there and started yelling at it, calling it names and then the next minute telling it that it is the best thing to have ever been in all of existence?

It would not. It would be confused and quite possibly agitated by this strange act of confusion and deception.

Therefore, the weather should be far more obedient than it was yesterday, because I did not get what I wanted and my outrage is completely justified, no matter what people say to me about my outrage.

So I carried my camera and tripod all day yesterday and it kind of sucked, but that’s the way these things go sometimes.

Of course I have them again today. The weather is quite nice so perhaps I will get the sunset that I wanted today.

Perhaps not. I still aim to get a few good pictures.

Well, a few pictures that hopefully will be good.

Only time will tell.

Or will it?

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:09:70

I ran out of stuff to say, hence the dramatic whinge.

Written at work.
