This is a photo I took during winter.
It wasn’t a particularly winter-like day from what I can remember.
I don’t think that this shot adds anything to the pile of natural / unnatural contrast images out there. However, I still like how this image turned out.
There is a strong contrast between the light and dark, but I think that the image still has a sense of softness not due to the background being out of focus.
I like that the Thunbergia grandiflora takes up the right amount of the scene. Obviously as it’s in focus it takes prominence, but I think that it gives enough space to the buildings in the background.
This is my submission into the seventy-third Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The theme for this one is “Cold“.
I feel as though this image counts as it kind of feels cold.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
This week is hosted by Tina and next week’s will be hosted by Patti.
I recommend checking out the challenge to see how people interpret each theme.
I also recommend giving it a go.
I hope you enjoy.

It can be quite cold here but the flowers still bloom SH, so I know just what you mean. Lovely contrast in this one
