Five-Hundred Word Challenge 912: Begins in the Morning

And so it begins in the morning and it traces its way around the page and off to off the desk and down onto the ground. On the ground it has more room to move around and so it traces itself a little further than it normally would. Thia is the first time it has traveled as far as this bit of travel, so it moves cautiously as it does not want to overstep.

However, that caution does not last and soon it is out of the room and all around the house. It spreads out as it moves forward and sees and experiences new things that it had not the opportunity before, so it decides to take advantage of the freedom it suddenly feels it has. It goes fast and it goes forward and does not turn around. Occasionally there is some stopping, but mostly it’s full speed ahead. It knows not when it will have this opportunity again.

So many sights new and foreign to it, and so much wonder being had; such was the way when given the range to move. Soon it was out of the residency and down the street, absorbing new things and continually accelerating as there was no telling just how much time it had before all would have to be turned around. Maybe it had all the time in the world, and maybe it had no time at all. There was no telling, but rather than dwell on the uncertainty, instead it raced on ahead and took in what it could.

It was such an open and vast world compared to the confines of the desk. Everything was spread out and shaped so differently, though of course some shapes appeared to hold some sort of lingering sense of familiarity, but that lingering was for later and not for now;. For now it was all about the exploration. Not too far from home, but of course that ended up going out the window the more that it became apparent that there was a lot to see.

And so it continues to explore and keep on going. There seemed to be a sense of different, yet entirely similar as rows of trees lined streets and cars of different makes, yet similar appearances appeared. These too were absorbed as they were passed on by. This was a new world and one that was worth experiencing for the time being. It keeps on racing forward and it keeps on going, but soon it turns around and starts making the journey back.

On the way back the lighting seems different to how it was earlier and everything is cast in a different way. There’s more of a sense of vividness; a wonderful display of great colours spreading across the sky and reaching all sorts of things, and so the journey back is as fruitful as it was on the journey away.

There was an experience of both the busy and the relaxed, but overall it was pleasant.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:42:23

I’m not sure why I switched from present to past tense and back.

Written at home.
