One Thousand Word Challenge 138: Waffling On

It feels like it is later in the day and maybe that’s due to already being active for a few hours, but I don’t know. It doesn’t feel this way when I’m working so maybe I’ve found a way to slow down time and get more things in. Maybe.

It almost feels like today is going to be a boring day, thus forcing my hand into being more productive than I have over the past few weeks. Of course this is just a bit of a complaint for no real reason, but at least I feel forced and compelled into not being lazy. Perhaps that is a good thing and I need to consider this day as such. Perhaps I will get many things done today, and if so, then awesome. I will welcome such activity levels of productivity, or whatever it is that “they” say, for I know not what they say; I just sit here and bang on the keyboard and hope the sentences makes sense.

We’ve a bit of heavy weather somewhere around, but right now it’s not right here and that’s a good thing for the time being. Don’t want to be dealing with the heavy rainfall and all that rain needs to stay inland and not become coastal, for it is inland where it is needed the most.

The clouds threatening to unleash at any time creates a certain gloom of specific intensity, but of course it is something that will or will not happen and all I’m doing here is projecting a sense of feeling and mood to a thing that does not have either a feeling or a mood, but that’s okay. That’s just something we do, I guess.

So I sit here and I write these words and I’m forced into being productive, but I know not as to which direction in which I should run, so I guess what I should be doing is trying to get these words finished and then move onto the next thing which I imagine will involve many more words, but perhaps of a more rigid variety as there are other things that I need to take care of and taking care of them is something that I will do in the way that I need to take care of them, or something. Still, there probably are better uses of my time right now, but I don’t feel as though I can complain as I’m still getting this done, and even if I wasn’t, I don’t think I’d feel the need to complain about whatever it was that I was doing as right now I feel that, so long as I am doing something then I am starting to warm up and get things done and that is what I want to focus on right now. I want to focus on the getting of things done and I want to make sure that that focus carries me forward throughout a day where things are actually done rather than my saying that they are done, for I’ve done far too much of that recently.

It is easy to pat myself on the back and walk away when I say I will do something, but I feel it might be easier to just do the thing. Not always of course, but often.

Anyway, once more it is sunny outside. The clouds have cleared and a sky is visible, but I know not as to how long this will last, for these things seem to happen in cycles of great regularity and great frequency when there is a bit of heavy weather about. Maybe it’s not even worth thinking about, but of course I think about it regardless, for it is something to consider and there are many things out there that require some sort of consideration, though perhaps this is not one of them, now that I think about it, but anyway, I still think about the weather as it is happening.

It almost feel as though there has been some sort of grand clearing, though soon the sky will be smothered once more as the clouds need to cover the sky so as to be able to impart rain on a given area… Or something.

Still, with all of this being said there is little denying that I need to focus on other things so as to be able to get those other things done, as today will be a day of great productivity. There is no time to waste; there is only time to create and so creation will be the order of the day. That is what will be required to be embraced for what remains in the day that is today for there are things that need to be done and all of that other stuff, so what I will do is do my best to stop talking in circles and get on with it, but first this needs to be finished, but that falls under creating and that isn’t such a bad thing anyway.

So, words said, sentences and the capturing of atmosphere that doesn’t hold still, and so I need to get on with things and hope for the best, for I need to hope that I stick to these things and get on with the doing and then once I’ve done that I will express myself in ways that involve grand repetition, among other things. However, before then this happens, then the next and the alternating brightness on a roof as seen through my window will allow me to see how bright it is outside, and all of those other things and so on and so forth and really, this didn’t need to be as long as it is, but I’m here and so therefore I will keep on going until this sentence ends, which is getting pretty close so I think I can stretch this out a little bit more, though I don’t actually know as to how much more.

Trails

Trails as left by birds moving through whatever it is that is covering this water.

I feel that, in conjunction with the light, the trails help draw out texture a fair bit.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit.

A lot of what people are submitting will likely end up here.

I hope you enjoy.

My Horse Prince

Some explanation for this one:

There is a game called My Horse Prince. It’s rather odd in ways and generally it is more known for its premise and the aforementioned oddness than its gameplay.

Someone I know recently saw a screenshot from the game and sent it through to me. I quickly sketched out a version of said screenshot and sent it through.

I then decided to improve upon the rough sketch and… well, here is said improvement.

I went with the background being red and the “horse” mostly colourless as it makes the image more intense, as does the addition of the skull.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1009: Bad Sentence

Once more in that little pinch of time where I find the time to make the time to do the time of the writing that requires the time in order to make the time that is found as time within time where all of the time that I have makes more time to do the time and so on and so forth.

Now you see, that could’ve been a good sentence, but it was not. It was rather horrible and still remains horrible, but maybe one day one of its descendants might make sense of the whole thing. Might. There is no telling and there is also a good chance that I’d do my best to make sure that the sentence does not improve. But still, there might be a chance where something related to the above sentence finally reveals what it was all about and then it will make sense.

In order to get to that point, a lot of work would be required and that is not something I am prepared to do. What I am prepared to do is waffle on and waffle on is what I will keep on doing as I need to get this done real soon as there are other things that I need to take care of and once more I’ve compressed everything into a tiny moment in what may be a long life and so I need to make sure that I get this done before the next thing which was meant to start a number of minutes ago. Perhaps this is a sign of planning too many things whilst being incredibly lazy. Maybe it is a sign of something else entirely. I cannot give a definitive answer there and if I could, I’d also probably choose not to as it doesn’t relate to the sentence that started this bit of writing off. Therefore, something something and so on and so forth and perhaps it is time that I am now stalling for as I try to find a way out of this thing that I have created, but I won’t and so I will just go on about my business until I get tot he end of all of this and then look at another direction that reveals the right amount of inflection required to convey the reflection needed to be able to reveal that which is and hide that which is not.

However, I digress.

So I wrote a bad sentence and perhaps it will remain forever bad, but then again, maybe it will not. At least this version of the sentence will remain bad, but one of its descendants will reveal the whole thing in the manner of which it is meant to be revealed; as a bad sentence that doesn’t truly convey anything other than a series of words connected together so as to be able to form a sentence whilst derailing any possible meaning that isn’t anything other than a clunky series of words forming meaning.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1008: As Aimlessly as Possible

And so I’ve a little spare time so I’m gonna do what I usually do, which is go into this as aimlessly as possible and let the mind take over and guide where the words go, but I didn’t know where they go; only the order in which they go is what i know but I don’t want to get stuck on that particular loop today. I’d rather not.

I want to write with meaning and expression and fine the way to get everything across so you all understand what it is that I need to get across. However, I don’t know as to how I can go about doing that other than through using the words that I have handy for the purpose of using in a way that gets things across, but of course I’m not the best at getting things across and so I can only hope that somehow all of this ends up making the sense that I require it to do so in order to get across meaning and expression in a way that truly expresses meaning and expression in a way that is most effective when approached through the action of reading words as they are written by someone who wrote them, which in this case would be me, though of course I don’t want to admit to that, but I have to as now I am faced with some thing that I need to be faced with and it is only I who can combat it and fight it back and then try and make everything better, rather than worse and all of those other things and so on and so forth.

However, I find myself at an impasse as what I want to do is write serious things that connect and reach out, yet I can’t help but throw myself into the realm of silliness and mess and thus I end up creating things that might be interesting to read at some point, but ultimately are passable at best, though perhaps this is exacerbated by my continuing to churn out as much as I possibly can at any given time and moment in the hopes that something happens and then from that something something else happens and then a chain of things happen, creating a link of sorts.

Anyway, I think this has mostly run its course and I don’t know as to where else I should try and take this bit of writing, so let us consider this the ending phase, where I look to end this in a way that sort of makes sense but feels awkward as I need to work out how to cram as many words in as possible, but not go overboard as I don’t want to throw the whole thing off. Doing that might cause more issues further along and so right now it’s all a careful balancing act so as to make sure that the end comes easily, and with only the necessary words.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:11:31

Early on I was aiming to try and get something across, though I dropped the ball and went into silliness.

Fire Hose Reel

This I took back in July at the same location as these three photos.

I was trying to frame the reel in a specific way and it sort of worked.
Not quite what I was looking for, but I’m content with the result, though I may attempt this shot again some time down the track.

Anyway, I like how the fire hose reel stands out. Sure, it’s more in focus than many of the other objects here, but it feels like a splash of colour, despite there being colour throughout the photo. I also like that most of the colour is just enough. This isn’t an over-saturated scene.

This is my submission into the one hundred-and-sixty-ninth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The theme for this one is “The Ordinary“.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This one is guest-curated by I.J. Khanewala of Don’t Hold Your Breath. Patti curates the next one.

I recommend participating in the challenges. They’re enjoyable and allow room for interpretation of the theme without straying too far. If you don’t participate, then I recommend that you at least check out what others of the Lens-Artists community are submitting.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1007: Twist and Turn

And so it goes and things twist and turn, and then in revealing all the things that need no revealing a revelation is reached where the consensus might just agree with itself so long as you look at the consensus in the correct way. If you do not, then there may be no consensus that agrees with itself and then what will you do? Where will you go from there? Sure, you could look at the thing in a different way, but where would the fun in that be?

Not here, that’s for sure.

Now, with all of these things being considered in a manner that suggests that they are indeed being considered, there needs to be the remembering of how things go and how they twist and turn so as to be able to see how it all folds and collapses in on itself, for there is some folding and some collapsing that needs viewing so as to be able to know when and when not to, and all of the things that will inevitably fall in between all of the other things.

Well, enough of that kind of fiasco. Now it is time to kick the feet up and outward and look inward and twist sideways whilst looking westward for what it is that we all desire, but cannot grasp due to the things that we cannot grasp being far and away from the reach of generations stacked upon each other in a manner that suggests the extension of reach. Of course there is no need to state reach; just suggest it as that is the best way of going about things in this day and age, as they say.

So anyway, plenty of looking in many different ways and directions and the hope is to find something that is needing to be found by those that need to find it, and we don’t know how that will turn out, but of course there is always the hope that it will turn out alright. You don’t want it to turn out poorly; you want it to turn out alright as if it turns out poorly, then there is the additional chance of things going rather bad and then there could be negative consequences and we don’t want to see those. We want to bury our heads in the sand if that does indeed happen.

Then again, if it does not happen we still may bury our heads in the sand. You see, there is every possibility of it not being those that may make the error as those that make the error. It may be us instead and then… maybe the mistakes are what we have to accept. Maybe we would not be able to run away from them and if we cannot run away from them, what then? What do we do and where do we go?

Well, I guess the most sensible thing would be to start tunneling and take flight from the scene in question.

More stuff best described as messy, bland, and so on and so forth, but I feel this one has a good flow. Maybe.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1006: Notion of Sense

And so the morning begins and all of that other stuff. It is cold but that’s fine. It’s fine for it to be cold. I can make myself warm and that is fine. What isn’t fine is that this rainfall is needed more inland than it is and as such there may be some further issues related to a lack of water, but you do your best and you persevere in whatever way that you can, and keep on hoping and work toward doing things better and all of that other stuff.

However, none of that is what I want to discuss right now. I don’t want to discuss anything in particular, really, but what I do want to do is throw a bunch of things together and create a patchwork mess of words and a tangled web of sentences. I don’t want this to make any sort of easy sense. Perhaps I don’t want this to make any sense at all. However, try as I might, there is a good chance that what I write will make sense, or at least form the idea of sense and all those other things and so on and so forth and you get the idea.

How do I escape this notion of sense? How do I get away from it all? How do I move beyond sense and makes sure that this is all garbled and messy and all of those other things? You see, the issue that I face this morning is that, try as I might, I’m finding it more difficult to string a bunch of words together in a way that does not make sense. I find that it is actually an endeavour that consumes far more time than I have to provide to such an endeavour right now, so I guess that I might be a little bit trapped and as such I can keep on trying, but there is no getting there right now.

Maybe it speaks volumes about the day ahead and my state of mind, which seems to be one prepared for working through a day that casts itself forward in a manner of seriousness. There is little, if any time available to be silly and let loose, but even then I think I’d struggle a bit, or a lot as intentionally creating a mess of things can be difficult on the odd occasion. Still, I can keep on trying.

Maybe right now it would be easier to will the rain to where it is needed most. Maybe that would be the best thing to do with the limited time I have before everything kicks into a high gear of sorts. Now, to be honest, I don’t know as to how I would go about doing this, but I’m sure that there is a way of doing so that would involve some sort of success so long as I tried and not any pure coincidence.

Then again, something something and so I’ll keep on hoping.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:15:19

I don’t know why I waited close to twelve hours to share this.
Probably laziness.

Anyway, here is a writing I wrote earlier. It kind of works.

A Poem About a Shimmering Resounding Outward

Not sure what to make of this.
Not great, but that’s not surprising.
Kind of gets something across.

I hope you enjoy.

A single shimmering resounds outward
Into a vastness of impenetrable darkness
Held in a still frame it moves onward
Until it reaches something that receives

Until then it seems not to exist
Or at least exists for nothing else
With that said when it is heard
The shimmering continues resounding

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1005: Merry Jaunt

And so it is that another day drifts on by with little inhibiting its movement, and such is the way of these things and so on and so forth, but of course there are other things that need to be worried about, but until they come around they are not welcome around here and so I will just continue on my merry jaunt through the seat of which is not moving, so therefore there is no merry jaunt whatsoever, and perhaps that is the way that things should be on a day such as today where there is little to do, but doing it all will somehow help things move on in a way that implies the movement required to keep no moving toward whatever it is that needs to be moved toward, which is the computer screen, but I’m already there and so in already being there I will stay here and hope that the sentence does not run on for too long as I don’t want this sentence to go any longer than it needs to as there are other things that I want to write and focusing on one sentence is not something that I would hope to do, so of course I hope that this sentence ends sooner rather than later but that might not happen as it might have a will of its own and in that will and that expression and putting forward of that will it might choose to go for as long as it chooses to do so and I have no idea as to how long that will be as I am only here trying to get things done and it is there trying to prevent me from getting things done which is something that I hoped would not happen, but here we are as we are not over there and so I just go along for the ride and hope that somehow this will all come to a conclusion so that I can start a different sentence that might lead to a different subject which would then lead to some genuine interest finding itself being made use of in the struggle against one sentence that must be fought against using multiple other sentences, but then again maybe I am the one in control here and therefore I need to admit that I am playing a large role in where this does and does not go through the act of actually doing the writing, so therefore I need to find the time and space to halt the progression of words that are coming forward from my fingers which, when I do, should hopefully stop the words from coming forth from my fingers, but of course I do know how to stop all of this from continuing and the only, singular way of doing so is through the power of one particular punctuation mark that is most commonly known to all far and wide and across the lands as the full stop.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:09:67

Quick and unpleasant to look upon.
This was very loose which is what I was hoping for. At first I wasn’t looking to write one lengthy, aimless sentence, but that’s what came forward, so yeah.
