Five-Hundred Word Challenge 941: Too Much Time

Perhaps today I have wasted a little too much time, but maybe that is okay. Maybe in this particular instance it is okay that I’ve wasted a bit of time. I’m fired up at the moment so that is good, but the time wasting… maybe that is good too. I don’t know; I’m not someone who can work out these things in this particular moment in time.

Anyway, I sit here. I do the thing. I write and I type and I create words using the technique of writing words and having them left on a screen so they can be read. That is okay; there are a lot of things that are okay. This is all okay and all that other stuff as it helps me struggle on forward in looking for a topic in which I can espouse my lack of knowledge as knowledge and then go from there as opposed to going to here and all that other stuff.

It’s a cycle of sorts.

So anyway, I think that I’ve covered everything that needs to be covered and so I will keep on going on with whatever it is that I need to keep on going on with. I am not sure as to what it needs to be as of yet, but I am sure that once I work it all out, I will get there in the end. I think.

There is every possibility that I will not get there and instead keep on writing with complete aimless as my guide. If that does happen, well, then I don’t know what I will do with myself… other that keep on writing, of course. It is the course that I take and so keeping on with the writing is what I leap on doing as that is what I  want to do  in this particular instance in time. It is frozen, yet continues to exist in the passage of time. It never goes backward; only forward and so on and so forth and I think you get the idea. In fact, it might be accurate to say that I hope  you get the idea as I have no idea as to what it is that I am going on about. I am sure that there are plenty of people who have a better idea of this kind of stuff, and so perhaps I should bow out of whatever it is that I am going on about and move toward writing about something else, but I don’t know as to what form that something else would need to take in order for me to express the proper expression it would require in order for me to express it, so… yeah.

Anyway, I think I’ve covered all that there is to say at this particular juncture in time. Of course I could say much, much more, but I’ve said as much as I can which is very little, and so I shall finish this bit of writing off.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:48:86

This feels like I’ve left myself too much time to waste.

Old Pit

I think this is an old pit; not entirely certain.

This was seen at the blast furnace ruins I somewhat-recently visited.
I like that, whilst some of the remnants remain visible, they’re slowly disappearing. The idea of nature is at work here and so this is a scene of change, I think.

I wonder as to the purpose of this part of the furnace. Perhaps it had to do with slag removal.

This is my submission into the one hundred-and-forty-sixth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The theme for this one is “Focusing on the Details“.

I think that, whilst this photo doesn’t quite focus on any particular detail of this pit, it does have a lot of detail; hence my inclusion in this week’s challenge.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This week’s challenge is curated by Patti. Next week Amy is curating.

The challenges are pretty fun and there’s a lot of room for interpretation that doesn’t get in the way of enjoyment. If you’re into photography, then I suggest participating, or at the least checking out what other people are submitting.

I hope you enjoy.

A Poem About Familiar Scenery

This was a really quick and rough “sketch” of sorts.

I like the suggested imagery. Not sure about the words used.

I hope you enjoy.

A dwindling pathway leads out to places known and familiar
Though the scenery has once more changed itself
Reorganised architecture brings forth old memories now new
And so familiarity begets a suggested unknown

In following this path there is an apprehension toward danger
Though that which is felt remains a deception
Whilst belief in the risk of the unknown remains highly weighted
No danger lurks anywhere within the area

The path is followed and more that is known is gradually revealed
Though the order of things remains scrambled
Once more of the unknown is revealed as only familiarity
The scenery shall once more rearrange

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 940: Cold and Awaiting

Cold and awaiting some sort of mist or fog or smoke to approach and paint the area in a more illusory, suggestive atmosphere. Not all should be clear and it should be clear that some details are just not there. Then perhaps  wandering into whatever this thing would be would be in order so as to really experience the idea of adventure in a familiar setting rendered unfamiliar.

So there would be some looking around and perhaps there would be some easy navigation as the place would still be recognised as somewhere you’ve been plenty of times, especially if you live in the area. However, with low visibility it sort of becomes something different and perhaps something new. You recognise it, but for what it normally is and not what it is in that particular setting which currently is imaginary, but still based on the settings of a perceived reality based on what it is that you happen to live in which may be a shared reality, and probably is, now that I think about it.

But anyway, it would feel almost like a fantasy and and maybe some kind of ominous mysterious exploration, but you’d still have to do it if you can as that would be fun in some way. It’s nice to see a place you’re familiar with in a different form as it means that you see a place you’re familiar with in a different form which of course allows you to understand it a little bit more due to its appearance being different to what it is that you’re used to, and so on and so forth.

Also, the spirit of adventure often is one that must be fed and so when something comes to your door that allows for a whole new adventure down familiar paths, it is best to feed that spirit, unless of course you cannot, for which there could be many reasons as to why. Therefore, it is best to feed the spirit of adventure when you can and not at any given moment, for there may be issues caused by letting its needs overrule everything else, so… yeah.

I guess what I am saying with all of this is that fog and mist can be cool. So can smoke, but smoke is something you have to be much more careful with due to how damaging it can be. I think that fog and mist might also have the capability of being damaging, but perhaps less so than smoke; at least in the short term, for I don’t know as to how much of a health impact fog and mist might have, so perhaps what I’m really saying with all of this rambling is that it is better to not take what I’m saying here too seriously as I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Either that or I’m saying something that I don’t realise I’m saying and therefore need to work harder to make sure I understand what I’m saying.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:49:84

I was hoping that this would turn into some sort of adventurous fantasy, but that’s not what happened.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 939: Nothing Else to Add

Alright, it is time to begin. It is time to begin the act of writing so as to use the act of writing as a medium for expression, and then get on with the getting on and all that other stuff. you should know as to how it works at this point, but I don’t. I only know as to which direction I am facing, though if I were to go off the cardinal directions, then perhaps I would be a little lost unless I decided to aid myself through the use of a map that had the cardinal directions listed on it, thus being able to then work out as to which direction it is that I would be facing and therefore some sort of conclusion would arrive and that would be all of it and all of it would then be wrapped up and done.

Now, I think that with that being said, there are other things of which need to be said in some capacity, but perhaps the capacity is absconding from what it is that needs to be captured, so I might need to get a bit of running going so I can then get a bit of sweat going. You know what they say; sweat is the coolant of the body in very specific situations, or something.

Perhaps there needs to be something a little more intangible that could help soften the directing of the head into a particular direction in a different manner so as to find a new way to find form in expression and expression in angularity, but of course all the scribbles of ideas that end up scrawled all over the place in this writing might need some sort of direction to be faced by the directing of the head so as they gain whatever clarity, or form of clarity they can capture, which is something worth pursuing, but only sometimes and only sometimes due to there needing to be some thing some of the time so as to explain some things some of the time rather than all of the time, which is something best avoided when possible to avoid, but this is neither here, nor there and so I will do the thing that I set out to do, but I cannot remember what that is.

I think there was meant to be some sort of form of expression in the thing that I was writing, but I lost my way along the way and now I’m sitting here and wondering a to what it is that I could be thinking of that I was trying to express, and so… yeah. I’m here now and there’s some stuff that I need to tale care of but that will wait as right now it is the sitting here that I must do and so I am sitting here and through sitting here I am doing a thing, which just so happens to be sitting here.

I’ve nothing else to add.

A fast writing, but not one that I feel was as good as it could have been.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 938: Sort of an Adventure

Well, it is almost the afternoon of another day and soon I head out and hit the road and drive on and off into the distance. That is part of the plan for today. I don’t know how all of it will go, but of course I have hopes that somehow all of it will be balanced on some sort of precipice that I can visualise and eventually visit, assuming that there is indeed a thing that I can call into reality through the power of thought, of course.

There will be thinking. There will also be driving. There will be things that happen and there will be things that don’t happen. There will be a lot of things, but not all things there will be a lot of.

Such is the way of things.

Looking forward will be a requirement as I need to make sure that I know as to where I’m going, of course. There will be other things that I will need to be careful of, such as not looking forward, as well as closing my eyes; something of which I can only do for an incredibly brief moment, for I need to pay attention to where I am going.

On a side note, if you play bass with fingers, remember to keep practising and learning and refining. Don’t take a lot of time off and then return and not expect it to hurt; something of which I didn’t expect, but only due to not thinking about it, but I digress.

The sun is out and there will be a lot of being outside. There will be things that I don’t always do and there will be some things that I do. There will be a sense of bitterness that I often invite and embrace, for I can be a bitter person in knowing of my approaching decrepitude. Still, the sense of freedom… won’t be palpable. It will just be there and there will need to be a strong responsibility that I will need to keep in mind, for driving a death machine is always a risk, but you can mitigate that risk to some extent. You just need to be careful with what it is that you’re doing, of course. Always need to be careful with these things and so being careful is what I will do, but there needs to be that sense of adventure.

There needs to be a sense of adventure within all of the banality, for it’s not as much of an adventure as I’d like to pretend, but seeing as I’m leaving my bubble for a few hours it can be considered an adventure of sorts.

I guess that it’s more of a novelty due to the length of time it has been since the last time I’ve made this long of a journey to this particular area of which I am heading out to, but… well, it’s not really an adventure, but I will still pretend it is one.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:17:32

This felt really, really easy to write. It just flowed on forward and… yeah.

Not great writing. Not sure what I was going for with this one, but at least it’s a step away from the firm regularity I write.

Under an Umbrella

Here’s a photo I took of a friend of mine.

There was water coming from the coal loader opening above (it had been a rainy day) so I got my friend to stand under it with the umbrella. We also had a vapour source with some of its produce being visible in this shot.

So this photo is rather dramatic; perhaps too much. I’m still happy with the result. It has a sense of the specific to it, I think.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit.

A lot of what people are submitting will likely end up here.

I hope you enjoy.

Gladesville Bridge in the Afternoon

The same underside as seen in this photo, though at a different angle and time of day.

This photo was taken roughly mid-afternoon, though it doesn’t feel as though it was.
I think this shot feels a little bleak and perhaps cold.

I also think the symmetry works really well in this shot as I think that this is a geometrically-interesting part of the bridge’s frame to see.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 937: Cold Morning Ramble

It is morning and the sounds of birds ring out. I’ve taken my gloves off and I have a split nail, but that’s not going to stop me this morning. I’ve other things to conquer.

What I need to do is get ready and make sure that I am warm. I need to make sure that I am warm so that I am not cold. I don’t want to be cold and so I do my best to stay warm.

After yesterday I feel rather drained, but I persevere as there is little to worry about ight now. The sun is shining  and it’s warm outside and all is well with whatever all must be well with, but the well that must be well with (that is all that is not well must be well with the well) is not feeling too swell about the situation, but that is the well’s problem; not mine, so… yeah.

So anyway, I am ready and armed to do the thing that I should be doing but postponement rules and so there is a postponing of the action. There is no action; it is all pure reaction, which is an action but I’m going to keep on claiming that it is not for I have the power of denial on my side and that is a strong power to have in certain situations. Maybe not so much this one, but I will pretend that it is as it makes it easier for me to continue. It’s denial on denial and so the denying keeps on piling 0n until it forms its own little type of cake.

The cake is not edible, but it is there and it is something that can be seen by many if they so choose to see it for what it isn’t. Maybe even what it is. Still, it is there and there is cake and of course cake may be a temptation for some but not others. There is a careful balancing act when there is cake in the room; especially when it is a cake made from denial, for you see now it represents something and in it being symbolic of stuff means that perhaps the cake is not the focus, but it is our inner turmoil which we must face as it faces us, trying to make us realise that it is there and it is something we must work with and try to settle and calm and accept responsibility for in order to be able to continue on the path of being a better person; not just to ourselves, but to those around us, but of course there are many things that we need to work with in order to continue down that path and this is just one small thing among a cluster of many, but we do what we can and that is all that can be strived for at the end of the day.

Now I’m not sure where to go from here.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:44:62

I felt that parts of this took longer to write out than I thought they would.

This bit of writing went somewhere into the rambling and came out probably worse for it.

Probably should’ve uploaded the writing when I wrote it, but I didn’t and now it is the afternoon, so yeah.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 936: Around Two Hours Later

Slightly over two hours after I started this and I’ve finally reached the final bit of thing that I’m going to publish. Then I shall rest for a bit, for I am tired and want to rest.

What happened?

Well, I got distracted, but it was a good kind of distraction.

During the working on the last post I did a bit of reading (it was very little) so as to be able to provide a small amount of information before I shared the post. Then I looked into some other stuff. Now I’m here, writing this, struggling to get this done due to the being tired taking over anything else that I can possibly do. I’m feeling it but I will get to the end of this. Then I shall rest.

It was a good attempt, but I think it could’ve been better. It always can be better though.

At first I wasn’t quite interested in doing something like this again, but I think that I will try it at least once more at some point down the track. Not necessarily due to finding it fun in some manner (though it was fun in some manner), but more due to not finding it the worst thing I’ve done and also wanting to see how much I can do in a period of one hour. I think that it’s a curiosity worth entertaining, so perhaps I will entertain that curiosity just once more some time in the future, though who knows how far off that will be.

So anyway, I think I’ve covered all that it is that I want to say. I’m not sure as to what else there is at this point, so perhaps I should think about wrapping this up, then getting ready to sleep. It is not too late in the evening, yet I am rather tired and desiring rest. I need rest for the next few days, for they are going to be quite busy and I need to be awake enough to take them on.

So… yeah. I’m now not sure as to what it is that can be said from this point onward, but let it be said that I sat here and did very little, then did some stuff, then a bit of nothing followed by this. That is what I leave behind on this evening of a bit of coldness and soon a lot of warmth. It was a time that was had and it was an experience through the flow of time. I spent it awake and am still awake, though perhaps I will be asleep for a short period of time by the time it comes to reading this.

I am sore but I did the thing and overall I am okay. Okay is better than bad and so with those words I shall close this bit of text off without anything too fancy as that would be considered “out of place” for here.

Instead I’ll end this here.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:29:02

I feel this is more together than most of my writing.

Not that interesting or enjoyable to read, however.
