One Thousand Word Challenge 107: I Sit Here

Well, once more I sit here, trying to work out what it is that I will put to screen to be able to be read by others, but of course I’ve nothing swirling around. What I should have done is written this before work when I was feeling less drained. What I am doing instead is doing this after work when I should be doing other things in an attempt to postpone the inevitable whilst feeling rather tired.

Tonight may be a busy night.

So of course I bring this all upon myself, so really it is just I that I am to blame as I should have known better, and in fact do know better, but here we are, doing the thing that I do and doing it with some sort of racing pace so as to be able to get this done sooner rather than later, though of course maybe it will be done later rather than sooner. There still is quite a bit of doing to go, of course, so I guess we’ll just see as to what happens when I get to the end of this.

Well, we’ll see hat happens as I do this, but of course I am not seeing it as I am not paying attention to whatever it is that I am writing. In fact, I am so not paying attention that I’ve written most of the last sentence and most of this sentence with my eyes closed and instead am just letting the thoughts flow freely. Probably not the best of ideas that I’ve ever had, but of curse the worst ideas are what you get and they are what I provide.

It’s as though that is what my trade happens to be; bad ideas to be shared with the world. There are no buyers but I do not stop. I keep on going and keep on going with some sort of determination to get it all out so that one day I finally get through all the layers of crab and find the one good idea that is within me so that I can express it without any qualms or issues. It will be so perfect and complete in its perfect completeness that I will have to worry no longer about other things, or something.

At least, that is what I am hoping in this particular moment. The truth is that I don’t know if that is indeed the case and I will likely forget the train of thought soon enough, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Sometimes things should be left behind in the past and sometimes they should be carried forward. I don’t think this will be carried forward as there are other things on my mind that I need to address and address them sooner or later is what I shall do. However, preferably it will be sooner as to night is going to be a busy night and I need to get a lot of things done before the end of it. That is only a few hours away as technically it is yet to be night and I will go to sleep a couple of hours after it does become night.

Of course there will be a great deal of procrastination, but sometimes that is what comes with the territory of wasting time. Such is the way of wasting time and such is the way in which I waste the time of which I am currently wasting in order to avoid the art of responsibility as I don’t want to be responsible for things at the present moment. I just want to sit down and waste time and do nothing and take it easy and all of that other stuff.

However, there are things that need doing and I can’t just put them off forever. I might try, but one day they’re all going to come back and I’ll be left with insurmountable things that I will have to spend some serious amount of time sinking my time into and so that will prevent the relaxing of which I so desperately crave.

Of course this is all on my, but I choose not to accept the responsibility of my actions. I have other things that I need to accept, such as deliveries and various objects of incremental desire. Those require the attention of which only I can provide and so provide to them is what I will do, assuming that I have any attention at all to give to anything other than my selfish pursuits by that stage.

Maybe instead of all of that I’ll just start everything from the ground again. Knock it all down, brush it all away and get on with something new. So long as I can keep a solid foundation, I am sure that I will get whatever it is that needs to be built built up in a way that somehow expresses what it is that I need to express through new and fanciful creations of my imagination that stretch beyond what is known in the plane of reality that I refer to as “reality”, though not always as sometimes I can’t think of a word to use to refer to it as and that of course weighs heavily on my mind, but not always as I don’t really think about it at all and thus I’m just talking and I don’t know why I am talking though I do now realise that this sentence has gone on far too long and so I need to think of a spiffy way to close it off, but of course I’ve got nothing.

That all said, I’m sure that, given enough time, I will think of a better ending for that sentence. Might have to come at some other point in the future, however, as right now I’m running out of space and need to think of what it is that I can say in order to close this off.

A Poem About Heat

I’d been meaning to write something like this over the past few days.
We had a heatwave and I wanted to write about it in poetic form.

Not great but I think it gets some of the experience across.

Not sure if I was too dramatic, or not dramatic enough.

I hope you enjoy.

A heavy heat
Resided here
Embracing all
With no escape

It slowly drained
It slowly took
As it pushed down
And pressed inward

Night would offer
A slight reprieve
Though not enough
It is desired

It takes some time
But the heat lifts
It’s washed away
By heavy rain

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 874: Postponed to Another Day

It has been a long day and now is the afternoon and I need to be doing more stuff soon, but of course that will all wait.

I had this plan to write some fiction this morning, but unfortunately that plan did not come to fruition. Seeing as that is what the plan was, it now has been postponed to another day as right now it cannot be done. Well, it could be done but it would be worse than had it been written in the morning when I was in a state of less fatigue than I am at the current moment. Therefore there shall be no fiction in this evening of evenings. Instead of that it is just the inane rambling that I am so readily able to dole out and leave you all wanting less.

Of course I could not do that and maybe persevere and get on with the doing of the things, but where would the fun be in that? That would involve doing things and I don’t want to do things right now. I want to glide and get this done and then do things that don’t involve doing things, therefore doing things that I did not want to do, or something. I don’t know how this all works, but I would like to believe that you get the idea. At least, I hope that I would like to believe that you get the idea.

However, that of course would involve having an idea to get and you need to lure in those bastards with some sort of magical entrapment technique so they sit neatly in a net as you carry them around and show them off to everyone, but then you need to worry about nurturing them and looking after them and making sure that they are indeed ideas worth having, so therefore there is more work that needs to be done when the whole target is the one marked with “less work” on it, so really I’ve dropped the ball on this one and there’s little else I can do about the situation so maybe I’ll just get on with doing the things. Maybe I’ll just suck it up and get on top of the metaphorical pile and dig through it until there is nothing left to dig through. That is a nice idea, I think. Maybe not a great idea, but a nice idea.

I think I just caught an idea and now I need to offload it to someone, but of course this idea is my own and I wasn’t even trying, so therefore I guess I am stuck with it until I can offload it to someone else. Whether that does happen or not is another thing to worry about, so really I’ll just put the idea in a folder and get on with not doing anything which still encompasses doing something so I think I’m kind of screwed here.

There is no getting out of this small predicament.

Not sure what I was thinking when I went into this other than thinking about mentioning my not writing a thing I wanted to write.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 873: An Evening Writing

Well, once more I have lapsed into a state of procrastination and that is fine as I’m still getting things done, such as this writing. Very soon I shall be in bed, however, so I need to finish this off sooner rather than later. Probably should’ve done this much earlier in the evening, but I didn’t. It has been a long day of nothing.

There were plans; There were tasks. I was hoping to get a lot of things done. Alas, once more sleep was the enemy for it withheld itself from my being and as such I woke early, much to the joys of the sound of my stomach expressing great displeasure. There were no horrible events that followed. Instead of anything bad, I dealt with the slightly upset digestion, but that eventually cleared itself. Fatigue did not and as such I sat here doing very little for most of the day, and that wasn’t necessarily the worst thing to do, though I certainly could have done a lot more. Oh well.

Now I get to listen to the sound of the rain and sit here and type this out and try to stay awake and not give up on the writing. I need to get this done before I go to sleep. Well, I don’t, but I would like to. The sound of the rain is calming and that’s nice. It’s not a gentle rain, but it is also not a heavy rain. It’s somewhere in between all of that and it creates a nice atmosphere, I think. It’s an appreciable one at the very least.

I feel as though I’m writing a little more slowly at the moment and maybe it does have to do with the rain, though it probably has a lot more to do with being tired and doing this as late in the evening as I am at the current moment; something that I’d hoped to avoid doing today, but such as it is, I am doing this now as opposed to earlier and instead of anything worth reading, you get me writing about my writing in the evening which is not worth reading, though really the upside is that this writing remains consistent with what I usually put out, so on the plus side everyone can rest assured that the usual lack of quality is being delivered to you at an hour that, for me, is a little too late in the evening which is something I’ve now said far too may times at this particular point of the day, which just so happens to be the evening which is when I am writing this bit of writing at the (then) current time.

I think that really what I should be doing is going to bed. It is clear that I am tired and that it is not helping matters, so what I’m going to do from here is close this off and then go and rest, for sleep is strongly desired.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:17:69

Decent speed but this felt really slow to write for some reason.

Not great writing.

Looking Down

Just a photo of an ibis looking down.

At least, it looks like it’s looking down.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit.

A lot of what people are submitting will likely end up here.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 872: Loose and Sweaty Writing

Well, it still is hot but now that I’ve finished work I can get a bit loose and sweaty with whatever it is that comes out of this bit of writing.

Yet to see what happens, of course.

Anyway, I just want to relax. I don’t want to do this right now but I am doing it as I want to do what I am doing and the writing is something that I want to do, even though I just said that I don’t want to do it as even though I don’t want to do it I still want to do it as that is the nature of my desire to write.

When I don’t want to write, what I do is write some more. This is probably not a good thing, but that is what I do and doing it is what I do. Therefore, there shall be more writing and this is what you will see on this particular evening of writing of which I am doing, as writing is what I’m doing and writing is what I want to do at this particular moment, even though I don’t want to write.

There is a bit of a breeze passing through the house and let me tell you, it is a relief. There still is hot air coming in, but soon it will cool down and I will stop sweating as much as I was earlier. That is to say that the sweat I am producing will diminish in relation to the coolness of the house, which is something that is increasing as my sweating decreases. Wonderful how that works.

Now, what else is there to say, other than I am happy about the fact that I am sweating less than earlier and that I don’t want to write, yet also want to write?

It is hot in the house and… wait, I’ve already said that. There has to be something else that I can cling onto and ride until the end of this bit of text of which I am churning out. There has to be something that I can think of that might  just cover everything that is out there that I want to say at the present moment. I need to wrack my brain for what little idea stuff remains in there. The heat got to it and right now that is not something that I consider to be a good thing as it means that I’m struggling harder than usual and, personally, I prefer to struggle less than more. However, of course that might not exactly be the case all of the time, but right now it is and therefore I don’t want to struggle.

I think I need to stop with the repetition with this bit of writing, but I don’t think I have anything else that I can pull out of nothing to put down to digital paper. Oh well.

Maybe soon enough this will all turn around, but who knows?

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 04:48:48

This is sloppy writing.

It sure was fun to write, however.

Work on the Bay

Not sure as to what work is being conducted. It may have to do with redeveloping The Sydney Fish Market.

Anyway, here is a view of some of Blackwattle Bay.

I think that most of this photo is rather even, sort of routine-type stuff if that makes sense.
Despite some sort of visible construction work, this is a mostly calm scene.

The old pylons invoke images of how this area once appeared whilst also keeping in mind the process of redevelopment.

I think that Crown Sydney, feeling very much like a testament to hubris and exploiting gambling addiction really hurts the feel of this scene.
Unsurprisingly it draws a lot of attention due to how away from everything else it is, as well as its height.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 871: Not Complaining

The heat is getting here, but today it is not as unbearable as it was yesterday.

Well, it wasn’t unbearable, but it was not pleasant. It was something that I could not escape and therefore it was something that was not something that was pleasant to deal with. Therefore it was unpleasant and therefore it was unbearable.

On the plus side, it is humid and hot inside as opposed to humid and hot outside, though it also is that outside. However, it’s also hotter outside. Inside it’s just a mild form of unbearable, and that’s fine for now. It will get worse later. It will be much worse tomorrow. Still, it will be what it is and therefore it will be a thing that I need to deal with. Not too much complaining about the heat. Need to do other things and take of other, other things. Complaining gets in the way of that so therefore there shall be no complaining until I decide to start complaining, in which case there will be more complaining as opposed to less complaining, so… yeah.

It feels like it is going to be one of “those” days, but maybe I’m just thinking about it a little too much and it won’t be one of “those” days at all. Maybe the day will sail on by and nothing will come of it and I’ll be fine at the end of it all.

However, I need to remember to not complain about the heat and how much I don’t enjoy sweating and sticking to my seat. I need to remember that there are other things to take care of. Need to stay focused on the target and need to reach it and get there and then do other things. No complaining. Not today.

Not one utterance about how I’m already feeling the heat and my feet are sweating and how it is making me feel uncomfortable. It is not that big of an issue and I’m sure that with enough time I will get through this current issue revealing itself as something I can work to mitigate over time.

I will not complain. No use in complaining. It doesn’t matter that the shower I had earlier is rendering itself a distant and fond memory rather than something routine. It doesn’t matter that my body is slowly marinating itself with sweat coming from my glands, leaving me feeling increasingly uncomfortable. Not something to complain about. Not complaining.

This heat is fine. Even though it is rather unpleasant, it is fine. There is nothing unpleasant about it. It doesn’t matter how inescapable it is. It is all fine and I am doing fine and I can get through this. It could be worse. It could be much worse. This is all something I can get through and get through it I will.

However, once my eyelids start sweating, all bets are off. That is when I shall unleash. That is when it will be time to complain.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:57:70

Still sweating.
Could be worse.

Sails in Profile

This is a photo I took yesterday before the thing I was photographing.

I think that this shot decontextualises The Sydney Opera House.
This still is The Sydney Opera House; it appears as such, but it also feels like something different.

I really like how the light falls on the sails, but admittedly I had to do a bit of work to bring that forward. I think it helps to carry attention across the sails in a sort of “back and forth” manner.

This is my submission into the one hundred-and-thirty-second Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The theme for this one is “Striped and Checked“.

I feel that this image fits the challenge due to the striped pattern the tiles help to provide.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This week’s challenge is curated by Leya. The next one will be curated by Amy.

The challenges are pretty fun and there’s a lot of room for interpretation that doesn’t get in the way of enjoyment. If you’re into photography, then I suggest participating, or at the least checking out what other people are submitting.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 870: Rambling Time

Doing that rush before work thing again and I’m not sure as to why I keep on doing this. It’s not like I’ve had plenty of time this morning to get into action, but here we are and here I am yet again, doing the same thing as I usually do. Bit of a bad idea at this point and I keep on doing it. Maybe I like the pressure. Not entirely sure on that, but one day I’m sure I will discern an answer that makes sense and clarifies everything that can be clarified relating to the particular question of which I have raised, even though there was no question raise and more of a thing to think about.

I guess that if you look at it in a certain way it can be phrased as a question. However, I’m looking for questions; I’m looking for answers and answers are what I hope to get from this messy creation of which is going somewhere that is quite linear, but let us just pretend that it is all over the place, which it is, but in terms of pathways. It is linear and will end the way that this stuff usually ends, but we’ll just pretend that it will go everywhere and be unknown and mysterious and all that other crab.

I don’t want any questions to arise form what it is that I am writing. If there are any questions that come from this, then it’s all something to walk away from. It’s not that I don’t want to answer questions that I inevitably raise; it’s that I don’t want to answer questions that I inevitably raise. Therefore, there shall be no questions or questioning. There shall be no embracing of the asking. That is something that goes right out the window today. I’m switching to cruising mode and that is what I shall do for the rest of the day; cruise my way to victory and untold riches of which I will be able to handle within my hands and all that other stuff of which I like to do, which is somehow be rich and be rich quickly and not have to worry about the luck of becoming rich and all that other stuff.

Perhaps then in that case I might not even search for answers and just not search for anything other than a nice relaxing holiday away from “it all” and then come back older and wiser and do the thing that leads to the other thing that will somehow manage to capitulate to the prior things and it will all make sense of its own accord, as is the way that these things are want to do and I’ll have done little else other than placate my ego and… yeah. That’s pretty much it.

Of course this is all a fantasy that won’t come to pass and instead I’ll just sit here and keep on writing what I write, but with less exclamation marks.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:41:92

I’m a bit sore and fatigued from yesterday and I think that had a pretty big influence on this writing.
