Five-Hundred Word Challenge 412: The Start?

The start?

Where is the start?

Is it at the beginning? If the beginning has already begun, does that mean the start is not the start but somewhere else in the middle, or at least approaching the middle, depending on which direction you  have choeasn to head?

there are so many questions and yet there is plenty of time to ask them all.

Where does the start lie? Does it lie? If it is lying about  being the start, then how are we meant to know what the truth is and discern the honest path that we must taken in order to discern the correct actions that need to be taken in order to reach something that resembles whatever it is that we are trying to discern?

How do we reach the start when the start is not, in fact the start and instead something else entirely?

What do we do when we are trying to reach the finish? What do we do?

WHAT DO WE DO?!

Must we create our own start? However, if we have already begun, then how do we make a start without rewinding the clock to some other time in order to allow the start to start?

What am I even going on about?

There are so many questions and I am not even going to attempt to answer them all, for there is as much time as I want and the time I want lies somewhere between the start and the word “yes”.

However, with all of that being said, there must be a start. Does the start have a start? What is the start? Why are the questions so questioning?

Is this a total waste of your time?

Possibly.

Maybe. Who knows?

Not me. Or perhaps I do.

I do know that one one path lies an answer and on another path lies another answer. Perhaps not to my questions, but there are answers indeed and they will be ascertained at some point in the indeterminate future. However, they may not be the answers that are desired and instead may be the answers required in order to answer the questions that are not worth answering.

Perhaps this train of thought is a dangerous line to follow, but the train cannot be gotten off of, for it is moving far too fast to allow for a safe escape and there are no stations for a while.

For at least a good while, unless the train finds a station and then decides to stop there, of which then a break would be created and it would start up again.

Start up again… but of course!

The start must follow the stop. If it does not, then it is not an entity with meaning.

That is, of course, unless there are other ways to start a start, which I imagine they are. However, they must remain unknown in order to pursue the ultimate truth, or something.

Well, I guess the train continues it’s journey to somewhere.

I guess this works as a thought experiment, maybe.

Emden Goose

A photo of an emden goose in all of its majestic glory.

I believe that it was flapping its wings at the moment of this photo being taken.

The goose exhibits great form and appears to be quite large in this photo.

I hope you enjoy.

Clouds Carry the Morning Light

First morning of the recent field trip to Smiths Lake.

I like the colour of the clouds in this one. It’s soft and warm and seems to add a bit of depth to the clouds as they billow outward.

The band of fog adds a bit of ambiguity to the image and contrasts well with the clouds and the sparse vegetation.

I think.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 411: Far More Than Usual

There is a whirring somewhere in the background and I do not know what is causing it to occur, but I do imagine that it has to do with the air conditioning of the office as it slowly powers up, even though it has already powered up and is working as intended.

Well, at least I believe that it is working as intended. I could be quite incorrect about  the surmising based on the information that I have at hand without delving much further into that which would reveal more to my being.

Today is going to be a long day. It has already been a fairly long morning, and I feel it at the same time that I am not feeling it, whatever it happens to be in this scenario.

Time is elongating far more than usual. Escalators exhibit a verticality that I have not seen before and all I am doing is bearing witness to the spectacle that precedes the event.

However, the spectacle stretches out for far longer than I could anticipate and it is not something that is choosing to end, so I must merely wait and watch and continue this dance that has been something that has gone on from before I came into the existence of this thing that we perceive as reality.

Still, there may be other things that I need to watch for and those things shall occur as a flash in time, stretching and elongating their way through the tendrils of my life, slowly forming and unforming as I merely sit and watch, although sometimes I will be standing and waiting for the time to come when I can walk away, if only for a brief moment and have a bit of a breather from the hustle and bustle of the life that is lived daily and not monthly before I need to get back into it and let it surround my being and take me along the journey that I so verily wish to follow, aside from when I do not want to follow it as there are other things that I need to do, such as water the plants or make the music or take the photos that are merely a historical snapshot as viewed in the future which at the time would be the present, hence the photos being a snapshot of history.

However, those are things that need to wait at present, for there is work to be done, hence why I am currently at work.

If there was no work to be done, then I imagine that I’d be elsewhere at the moment, doing other things.

The ocean was cold this morning which is a shame, for it was too cold for me to enter without a layer from a wetsuit to cover my being, which meant that I could not embrace the ocean as it would embrace my being.

Still, there will be other days where I can go in and enjoy the morning waves.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:01:40

A bit of a tangent this morning, but I’m partially satisfied with the result.

Maybe it is due to the stream-of-consciousness rambling that seems to be much smoother than usual.

Maybe.

Slight Escalation

Buildings in a line getting taller, although I’m not sure about the last one in this line.

I like that there’s at least a couple of different architectural styles in this shot and that they don’t clash too much.

I also like that this leads to a few different patterns in the buildings.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 410: Many Voices

There are many voices going on in this small space at the moment, for there is assignment work that is occurring and we need to get the work done in order  to reach a location of finality with assignments, as this is where it all starts and the assignments all end at the same point: the due date.

Much deliberation must occur before we can all reach our consensus.

Some of us are doing far less work than others, such as myself, but I’ve already made my major contribution and am merely awaiting for the moment in which I can insert myself once more into the ongoing dialogue regarding what we need to do and how we go about doing it in order to get all the results from the data that we need to pull, even if they are not the results that we want.

Perhaps we will end up with a significant amount of information that we can draw conclusions from. Perhaps we will not. It is still far too early to tell, but we will eventually see what all of this leads to and then we will write our reports of a long period of time which will then lead to implied greatness, if that greatness is indeed implied.

Either that or we’ll end up with some decent assignments so long as we knuckle down and make sure that we write something that is worth reading and assessing.

I’m just sitting here writing about the whole process without giving much information about what is going on, which may be related to the fact that right now there is not much going on as we are all splitting off to try and work out stuff before reconvening.

I’ve got nothing to do. Actually, I probably have a lot to do and therefore should stop writing this and get back to work.

I also probably do not care enough at the moment to try and contribute something that could be seen as more than worthwhile.

At the moment I’m feeling tired and it’s my own fault. What a terrible fate that has befallen my being.

I know that there is other assignment stuff on which I need to work, and work on that assignment stuff will be completed with gusto when I can be bothered to pull my finger out and start doing things a bit more rather than doing things a bit less.

Well, with that being said, it seems that the conversation has once more resumed. I have now contributed slightly more and now have checked out once more, for there is little for me to do right now as I am making excuses and avoiding the inevitable.

It’s a wonderful life.

Oh well. I guess I really should now involve myself far more than I currently am, for this post is meandering and there is no goal in sight, unless the goal is hidden from my viewing and I will reach it in the last words.

A decent speed, but not a good post.

Oh well.

Fulica atra Cleaning Itself

Three shots that I took yesterday for an upcoming university assignment.

I think the form is great and you get an idea of how the coot is moving, but not a good idea of how it is moving and what is happening between the photos.

I hope you enjoy.

Morning Light Spills Over Cabin

This was taken on the last morning of the recent field trip to Smiths Lake.

It was a bright source that lead to an “Awakening” of no one, as no one was sleeping in the far end of this cabin.

I think that the lens I was using had some sort of smudge on the front that I could not see which lead to the photo looking the way it does, but I also think that it works.

I like how the morning light just seems to billow over the cabin, almost as though the cabin is going to be consumed.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.

I hope you enjoy.

Walking Across the Dune

This was taken during the most recent field trip to Smiths Lake.

Three people walking across the dune to see what lies beyond before starting research for the day.

I think that the space of this photo gives an idea of how small humans are, as well as the vastness of the area.

I also think that the different textures work well with each other.

This is my entry into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.

I recommend checking it out and considering submitting if you are a photographer.
It’s a fun event driven both by Leanne Cole and the small community that participates.

I also recommend that you check out Leanne Cole‘s work outside of Monochrome Madness.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Foggy Sunrise

On one of the mornings of the field trip I woke up early to catch the sunrise.
Actually, that was every morning of the field trip.

On this particular one, I walked along the road behind the field station in order to find a good location to take a photo of the sunrise. There was plenty of fog, but no sunrise as of yet.

I wasn’t able to get far due to water, so I went to the lake and took some photos there or a few minutes. On my way back I could see the sun shining from somewhere along the road so I went back and took a bunch of photos.

Here’s one of those photos.

I like how the fog affects the scene, making things appear a bit more… I don’t know… scenic?

I also like as to how the vegetation is silhouetted among the light shining from somewhere in the distance.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
