A photo of a pelican.
This was taken recently whilst walking through Centennial Parklands.
I feel that I was really lucky to be able to get as close as I did.
I didn’t have my 70-200 with me so I slowly approached the pelican, hoping that it wouldn’t attack.
I don’t know if pelicans become aggressive, so my not being attacked was a relief.
I guess not being attacked at any stage of life is a relief.
I think that this image might be a little too dark, but I do like the way the shadow of the pelican is emphasised.
I like the shape and form of the pelican contrasting with the area.
I also like how the muted, yet “colourful” area contrasts with the colour of the pelican.
This is my submission into the first Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
This challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti of https://pilotfishblog.com/
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya of https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/
Week 3 – Amy of https://shareandconnect.wordpress.com/
Week 4 – Tina of https://travelsandtrifles.wordpress.com/
This week is hosted by Tina and next week’s will be hosted by Patti.
I suggest following and considering participating, but also seeing how other people have responded to the photo challenge from The Daily Post ending.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

A fun choice for the week! I don’t think pelicans are aggressive but I guess I wouldn’t get between him and his food supply!!!
