A shot of Mount Solitary in the rain.
I’ve looked at and taken photos of this mountain a few times now, but I’m yet to tire of it.
It’s not the most amazing thing out there, but I still find it a rather beautiful and powerful thing which is helped by the layout of the land in the area.
It was raining when I took this photo. It’s more apparent closer to Mount Solitary than closer to where I was.
I like how the rain kind of makes things appear slightly less distinct and I also like how it enhances the contrast between light and dark as it makes the scene more about shape than it does detail.
I think that Mount Solitary remains distinct in appearance which is helped by the valleys. It sticks out around the land and rises above most of the vegetation, drawing attention to its appearance.
This is my submission into the ninety-fifth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The theme for this one is “All Wet“. I feel this photo counts as it was raining, leading to a wet landscape.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
Tina is hosting this one. The next will be hosted by Patti.
I recommend giving the challenges a go and seeing how you interpret each theme. I also recommend checking out what other people are doing to meet the challenges.
I hope you enjoy.
