I went to a place I’d been before with the intent of taking photos in better weather than the last time I was there, though the weather was alright the last time, but anyway…
I like the variability in what’s left of the mined rock here. Kind of looks really messy, jagged and uneven. I think that’s aided a bit by how the sunlight is falling on the rocks and creating a strong contrast between the shaded and illuminated surfaces.
I think that there’s also an aged feeling to the rocks. I imagine that part of that was brought on by this being part of a once-active quarry and gradual weathering over time.
