I was watching this gull as I was trying to get a photo of it with its beak touching the water just before a ripple formed. Took a few and I’ll share some others later, but for it’s just this one.
I think it was looking for food. I’m not sure. I also think it has some sort of leaf in its beak, but I’m not sure. I know it found something else in this puddle that looked more like a leaf than this object, but this still could be, albeit more decomposed. Maybe.
This is my submission into the two hundred-and-sixtieth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. The theme for this one is “Overlooked“.
I feel this counts as, when we see a group of birds we don’t always pay attention to what some of them are doing and as such can miss actions that seem different to what the other birds are doing. I also think this counts based on the possibility that the gull found the object due to other birds not seeing it.
The host of the Lens-Artists challenges cycles weekly between the following people:
Week 1 – Tina
Week 2 – Patti
Week 3 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 4 – Amy
Week 5 – John Steiner
Week 6 – Sofia Alves
Week 7 – Anne Sandler
Week 8 – Donna
Week 9 – Guest host
Janet Webb of This That and The Other Thing is guest-curating this one. Leya is curating the next one, and the theme has been announced in advance as “Work in Progress”.
I recommend participating in the challenges as they provide a fun way to interpret theme. If not participating, then at least you should still check out what others of the Lens-Artists community are submitting.
I hope you enjoy.

You did catch the leaf, well I think it’s a leaf too. And I love the water droplets too.
All easily overlooked. Well done.

I like that you caught the action in your shot, not just the gull before or after the drops. Good job and thanks for participation and encouraging others to do so too. It’s always fun to see what everyone comes up with.
